πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ΌπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ US support to Ukraine disrupts Taiwan tanks orders

The U.S. decision to arm Ukraine with 31 Abrams tanks has been hailed as a decisive act of support, but it complicates the timeline of production for Taiwan as its orders have not been completed yet.

The tanks Washington plans to send to Kyiv are the same type Taiwan ordered and bought in 2019.

The tanks are only assembled at a General Dynamics plant in Lima, Ohio, which produces 12 tanks per month. The production line is full of new tank orders for Taiwan and Poland, which would be difficult and controversial to be placed on the backburner.

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡Ό Taiwan sees China learning from Ukrainian conflict

China's military
is learning from Ukrainian conflict that any attack on Taiwan would have to be swift to succeed, the island's defense minister said.

Taiwan Defense Minister Chiu Kuo-cheng stated even if Chinese forces were planning a speedy attack, they would face difficulties trying to take the island in a sudden move as they would have to cross the Taiwan Strait that separates the two.

According to Chiu Kuo-cheng, Taiwan will not provoke any conflict. However, as as the guns sound, the island will keep going to the end.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΉπŸ‡Ό An American plane flew over the Taiwan Strait

A US Navy P-8A Poseidon patrol aircraft crossed over the Taiwan Strait today, according to a statement released by the 7th Fleet under the US Pacific Command. Thus, the United States upholds the right to free navigation in the region.

It didn't take long for China to react. The PLA Eastern Command brought in appropriate forces to monitor the American aircraft. China also criticized the US actions and called them endangering the situation in the Taiwan Strait.

πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ΌπŸ‡¨πŸ‡³ Taiwan reports 19 Chinese planes in its air defense zone

Taiwan's defense ministry said on Wednesday it had spotted 19 Chinese air force planes in its air defense zone in the past 24 hours.

According to the authorities, 19 J-10 fighters had flown into the southwestern corner of the island's air defense identification zone, or ADIZ, though closer to the Chinese coast than Taiwan's.

The aircraft did not cross the sensitive median line of the Taiwan Strait, which previously served as an unofficial barrier between the two sides.

πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ΌπŸ‡¨πŸ‡³ Taiwan warns of China's repeated provocations, China tells US not to cross red line

Taiwan will not allow "repeated provocations" from China, the island's defense minister said on Tuesday, as China's foreign minister said Taiwan was the "first red line" that must not be crossed in Sino-US relations.

"The Chinese communists use any reason to send troops," Chiu Kuo-cheng said. "But we won't just say 'bring it on'. We will take a peaceful and rational approach."

This was a response to Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang’s words that it was "absurd" for US officials to say that Taiwan is not an internal affair of China's, because this question is the core of the core interests of the country. That is why it is the first red line that must not be crossed in China-U.S. relations.
