Israel: Strikes on Journalists in Lebanon Apparently Deliberate | Human Rights Watch - Nov 2023

Two Israeli strikes in Lebanon on October 13, 2023, that killed Reuters journalist Issam Abdallah and injured six other journalists was an apparently deliberate attack on civilians and thus a war crime, Human Rights Watch said .

Witness accounts and video and photo evidence that Human Rights Watch verified indicate that the journalists were well removed from ongoing hostilities, clearly identifiable as members of the media, and had been stationary for at least 75 minutes before they were hit by two consecutive strikes. Human Rights Watch found no evidence of a military target near the journalistsโ€™ location.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ Al Jazeera cameraman killed: Medics were prevented from reaching Samer Abu Daqqa

An Israeli air strike has killed Al Jazeera cameraman Samer Abu Daqqa and injured the network's Gaza Bureau Chief Wael al Dahdouh. The two veteran journalists were reporting on an attack by Israeli forces at a #UN-run #school in Khan Younis. Continuous heavy shelling by the Israeli military prevented paramedics from reaching Samer.

He was later found dead, after bleeding for hours from his wounds.

Al Jazeera's Hoda Abdel-Hamid reports.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ โ€˜Itโ€™s Bisan From Gaza, And Israel Is Forcing Everyone To The Desert'

Israel has shifted the so-called โ€œsafe zoneโ€ again. First Khan Younis was supposedly safe, but after continuous bombing, Palestinians are now being forced into the barren sands of al-Mawasi.

The narrow strip of land, about the size of the airport, is where Israel wants Gazaโ€™s 2.3 million civilians to relocate to. But the small, undeveloped zone has no infrastructure for safety or survival.

As Bisan Owda shows us, there is no clean water to drink and not enough fuel to keep people warm.
