MAXIMUM VOLUME LEVEL INDICATOR

Movement of the maximum volume levels during a trading session could be seen with the help of the Dynamic Levels indicator. There are no such levels in technical analysis but professional traders can see them, that is why the price slows down here and a breakout or a bounce takes place after that depending on who is stronger – buyers or sellers. The indicator has flexible settings and a trader can see levels for a selected period and turn off/on the Value Area.

πŸ‘‰ Moreover, the system is able to calculate the maximum volume level (Point Of Control – POC) by Bids, Asks, trades, Delta or time. If you select the day type of calculations, the maximum volume level will change during a trading session. A trader can select various colour settings and add sound alerts.

HOW TO FIND TRACES OF THE MANAGED MONEY WITH THE HELP OF THE CLUSTER SEARCH INDICATOR IN ATAS
It is very important for traders to decide at what levels they will trade. We will watch major trades and the limit side of a trade with the help of the Cluster Search Indicator.

We will use two cluster search indicators to detect levels with a severe fight between buyers and sellers.

It happens quite often when market orders are engulfed by limit ones at the end of a focused movement, and the price reverses. The Cluster Search indicator can detect such levels. If you want to separate the European and American sessions, you need to use 4 indicators. Two indicators for every session. One for buying and one for selling.

Pattern of the DELTA indicator - absorption

Such situation occurs when a large number of market orders cannot move the price in the desired direction. For convenience, we add the Cluster Statistic indicator to see the information about delta and volume in each bar at the bottom of the screen.
Firstly, we mark the significant (in our subjective opinion) levels with black horizontal lines on the 30-minute chart, and then we go to the cluster charts to estimate absorption.

In the bar number 1 the delta is negative, but the price haven`t reached the level, which we marked, by 1 tick. In the next bars (which we have marked with a black rectangle) the delta is negative, but volumes have decreased, while the price is moving in a flat.
Then growth comes on positive delta and bullish bars.

HOW TO TRADE A SHORT SQUEEZE?

Take a lemon and squeeze it. The juice will begin to run out.

Similarly, the invisible hand of the market squeezes money out of short sellers during a bullish breakout.

βœ”οΈ An extremely high value of short positions could be a sign of a Short Squeeze. % of short positions is a number of short positions divided into the number of stocks in circulation. Stocks that have this figure above 10% have more potential.

βœ”οΈ SIR (the number of days required for closing all short positions) should be >5. This means that the number of short positions must exceed the average daily volume by more than 5 times. Having this ration, short sellers can start panicking if the price rises sharply.

βœ”οΈ You can use technical analysis indicators to filter stocks. For example, SMA (50) or VWAP. Prices should be higher than the indicators, there must be a clear uptrend on a larger time frame.

βœ”οΈ The opening gap >2% will also increase chances for a profitable trade.

CHEAT SHEET FOR WORKING WITH LEVELS OF DOM LEVELS

The DOM Levels indicator shows the change in the number of limit orders directly on the chart with horizontal levels of different thicknesses and colors. It’s adjusted according to the min and max volume of limit orders. You can see where traders placed a large number of limit orders during the day.

πŸ‘‰ The significant levels are built on the chart over an extended period and aren’t removed from the DOM within a few minutes.
πŸ‘‰ A breakout of a level that has been present on the chart for an extended period may indicate that the level was intermediate and that profits were partially secured at that point.
πŸ‘‰ Returning to a level after its breakout provides more compelling reasons to believe that the level is being held rather than just approaching the level and stopping.
πŸ‘‰ Levels that appear and disappear after a short time are often traps. Their goal is to show the false presence of big players' interest in the level.

πŸ€– WHAT TRADING ROBOTS EXIST?

In the market, you can find ready-made trading robots to suit your preferences and budget. They are typically divided into the following categories based on their complexity level:

πŸ‘‰ Basic algorithms
They offer trading models based on already known indicators. For example, we buy when the fast MA crosses up the slow one.
πŸ‘‰ Advanced algorithms
They analyze technical analysis figures, candlesticks, and search for patterns.
πŸ‘‰ Professional robots
They use volume analysis, order flow, look into the order book.
πŸ‘‰ The most powerful extra-class robots
They assess electronic media, conduct neuro-linguistic analysis, gather exchange and broker reports, use macroeconomic principles, and employ AI and machine learning systems.

Did you know that you can create your own robots and indicators in the ATAS platform? All you need is to have basic knowledge of C#. You'll find detailed instructions:

🌊 WHAT IS THE WEYS WAVES INDICATOR CAPBLE OF?🌊

πŸ„β€β™‚οΈ It sums up the volume on each wave and we get a histogram of cumulative volumes of alternating waves.
Weis Waves enable the comparison of the ratio of the characteristics between a series of waves, such as the applied effort (expressed in volume) and the result obtained (price progress).

πŸ„β€β™‚οΈ It is really good at showing reversals of a trend movement.
The wave is measured by length (time characteristic), volume (total number of contracts traded in one direction) and height (progress achieved). By comparing the characteristics of one wave with the previous or next one, you can gain information about the overall nature of the market.

πŸ„β€β™‚οΈ It works great with Renko and tick charts, as well as the Dynamic Levels indicator.

HOW TO IDENTIFY A BREAKOUT USING VOLUME INDICATORS
Breakout trading is an approach in which a trader focuses on price movements through key support or resistance levels. If the price breaks through a support or resistance level, there is a possibility that the price will continue moving in the same direction.

πŸ‘‰ when the price is about to break through a level, the trading volume usually increases as it approaches that level
πŸ‘‰ before a true breakout occurs, there is usually a false breakout in the opposite direction
πŸ‘‰ breakouts occur rapidly, leaving little time for traders to analyze and enter a position at a bargain price

How to confirm a breakout to trade more confidently?

βœ… Stacked Imbalances shows the dominance of one of the parties by analyzing several price values in a row. The imbalance usually occurs in the breakout area.
βœ… Speed of Tape in delta mode will give evidence of increasing pressure of one of the parties over time.

4 USEFUL FEATURES OF THE BIG TRADES INDICATOR

The features of the Big Trades indicator lie in its method of interpreting large volumes on the chart. In the illustrations for this post, we will demonstrate four ways to interpret it. The described logic applies to other instruments/timeframes.

1️⃣ A large sell trade absorbs several price levels and moves the price in its direction, increasing open interest.
☝️ Conclusion: A large seller anticipates a price decline and opens a position. Trading in the direction of a major trader is likely to be profitable.

2️⃣ A major trader opens a long position, does not move the price in their direction, or moves it insignificantly, but the trend develops in the opposite direction.
☝️ Conclusion: The buyer does not control the price and incurs losses; the trend will develop against the buyer. It is advisable to open a position against the direction of the major trader.

3️⃣ In an uptrend, a large buy trade absorbs limit volume, reducing open interest, and the price continues to move.
☝️ Conclusion: A large seller against the trend expects the movement to continue and cuts losses by buying when a sufficient volume of a limit seller appears. The situation is uncertain; it is advisable to refrain from opening trades until the trend is confirmed.

4️⃣ A large sell trade absorbs several price levels; when testing the seller's level, the price bounces off, and the seller holds positions.
☝️ Conclusion: A large seller expects the price to continue to decline. It is advisable to open trades in the direction of the major trader when testing the seller's level.

❔ Did you know that...
ATAS allows you to combine multiple indicators?

This concerns saving space and combining several indicators under the price area. An example is shown in the screenshot, where the readings of 3 indicators are combined on one panel:

1️⃣ Regular vertical volume indicator (gray color);
2️⃣ Π•ΠœΠ (100), created for volumes. To make the EMA calculate volumes, you need to select = Volume as the Source parameter in the EMA settings (by default = Close);
3️⃣ Delta indicator in Minimized mode. Positive values are purple, negative values are pink.

To combine multiple indicators on one panel, the Drawing / Panel setting for each of them must have the same value. By default, each indicator is displayed on a separate panel with a separate number, starting from 1.

πŸ“ˆ VWAP stands for Volume Weighted Average Price. It might seem similar to a moving average at first glance, but that's pretty much where the similarities end.

πŸ”ΉVWAP acts like a really accurate signal, telling you how the current price stacks up against the price trends of the day, week, month, or even the year.

πŸ”ΉIt also compares with VWAP values from yesterday, last week, or the previous month.

πŸ”ΉThe cool thing about VWAP is that it shows the exact same line whether you're looking at a 1-minute chart, an hourly one, a Range Bar, or a Renko chart.
It's consistent across different views and time frames!

πŸ†• The ATAS platform offers over 400 indicators, and the number keeps growing with each update. Recently, several new indicators have been added:

πŸ’  GAPS – this indicator marks price gaps on the chart, which often serve as areas of support and resistance (as confirmed by historical analysis). It distinguishes between bullish and bearish gaps and draws lines up to the first price touch.

πŸ’  Bionic Candle – this vibrant indicator provides a more accurate assessment of candle strength by considering the movement before the candle closes. For example, strong bullish candles are highlighted in yellow, while strong bearish candles are highlighted in blue.

πŸ’  Linear Regression Channel – this indicator automatically creates a trend channel based on the price's linear regression. It features a central line (regression line) indicating the average trend direction and two parallel lines at an equal distance from it. They mark the upper and lower boundaries of the channel.

Read more about indicator types, their functions and settings in our blog.
