I turned a corner I've turned so many times only to be met by an empty space in which I've never seen. It's hard enough to find character among the new builds of today, yet we're destroying the few unique structures we have. This can only ensure a bland, cultureless future.

The beloved 'Air Balloon' pub in the village of #Birdlip, #Cotwold, that served for nearly two and a half centuries was demolished to allow for the construction of the multi-million pound upgrade of the A417. What began as two ale houses for our working ancectors died as burden to modernisms plans. No ugly new road or rotten skyscraper is worth a single brick from our beautiful pubs. #RIP

This beautiful cottage was once a lovely little pub. What do you think about this holiday home? For me it's better than seeing it become a shop but I'd prefer it was still a pub.

A crowd gathers outside the 'Frying Pan' public house on #BrickLane in #Whitechapel, East #London during the 1880s. Brick Lane is now a graveyard of pubs. Instead, one is met with a baragement of graffiti. This photo was taken during the time that the Whitechapel Murders (Jack the Ripper murders) were taking place. If only we could hear what they were saying. #RIP 🍻

Formerly a house known as Bishop Hall’s Palace that's supposed to have been built for the Sheriff of Norwich, Richard Brown. It was damaged by an incendiary bomb upon which the owners, Steward & Patteson, rebuilt the it after the war and it was reopened as a pub in 1960. By 1999, the owners at the time decided to close the pub and later offered it for sell up. In 2001 it was damaged by a FIRE🧐... and has since become a chiropractic practice.

My favourite meal is #PieAndMash, a dish which has thrived for a very long time. Now, the shops, like many pubs, are closing not because we don't want them, but because our government, like our newcomers have no need for them or the culture that created them. I feel my life source dissappear with each and every shop. #RIP
The Bull Inn, #Aldgate High Street, #Whitechapel, #London (#RIP) - From the water-colour drawing by P. Palfrey.
People are asking why the #Peanut story is so important to us. Well, in reality, it's disturbing confirmation that the very concepts of innocence and decency themselves are being deliberately targeted. The embellished excuses used against our fellow humans have become an easy way of excusing humanities' overall decline in empathy and compassion. The fact that humans can talk means we can lazily hold them responsible for all kinds of misdeeds as opposed to doing out due diligence. Strangely, be is due to modern issues or our competitive nature. A human under attack seems perfectly acceptable to us. But, to target that which can not talk and is not part of our political minefield is to give away the true fruits of your seed. Ironically, yet quite understandably, the mistreatment of an animal can create the epiphany needed to form a greater appreciation of human life whilst simultaneously improving humanity itself.
Even if those who're angry aren't consciously aware of exactly why they're so enraged or simply struggle to articulate themselves, the truth is they're mortified that purity itself has become such an open target to the hands of evil. In nearly all cases, like with most contemporary issues, those asking why a squirrel is so important come from a place of intellectual and moral dishonesty. There is no overarching force of good, only us, and the standards we set. The quicker this is accepted from east to west, the better we'll become at creating a world worth living in. 🤝
