β Recently, India and EU ships conducted joint activities in the Gulf of Guinea, in an effort to reinforce naval maritime security cooperation in support of the region.

β The first official star party for experienced amateur astronomers was organised by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) in collaboration with Department of Wildlife Protection.
β Hanle is home to IIAβs Indian Astronomical Observatory and hosts many professional telescopes due to its dark skies and dry weather.
β A Dark Sky Reserve is a designation given to a place that has policies in place to ensure that a tract of land or region has minimal artificial light interference.
β The Hanle Dark Sky Reserve (HDSR) will come up within the Changthang Wildlife Sanctuary, situated 4,500 metres above sea level.
β Hanley is home for the second-highest optical telescope in the world, established in 2001 by Indian Institute of Astrophysics.
β The Department of Science and Technology and Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) in Bengaluru are providing support for the facility.

β To meet the International standards, these products had passed through three layer of certification viz., Refinery lab, IOCL R&D Centre and an internationally reputed third party lab.

β BR is an international designation by (UNESCO) for representative parts of natural and cultural landscapes extending over large areas of terrestrial or coastal/marine ecosystems or a combination of both.
β India at present has 18 notified biosphere reserves spanning 60,000 sq km.
β 12 of the 18 biosphere reserves are a part of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves, based on the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme list.
β The first biosphere reserve in India was the mountains of the Nilgiris stretching over Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.
β The largest biosphere reserve is the Gulf of Kachchh (Gujarat) and the smallest is Dibru-Saikhowa (Assam).

π₯ Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)
β India is consistently raising objections on EU's CBAM as it may hamper India's trade ties with EU.
β CBAM is part of the βFit for 55 in 2030 package". It envisages EUβs plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels in line with the European Climate Law.
β The CBAM is a policy tool aimed at reducing Carbon Emissions by ensuring that imported goods are subject to the same carbon costs as products produced within the EU.
β The CBAM will be implemented by requiring importers to declare the quantity of goods imported into the EU and their embedded Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions on an annual basis.
β To offset these emissions, importers will need to surrender a corresponding number of CBAM certificates.
