Without a doubt, we all seek happiness and well-being in our lives, and prosperity and wealth cannot be deducted from the equation. 2,500 years ago, The Buddha gave a formula for laypeople (like you and I) on how one can increase prosperity and avoid loss of wealth. Wealth alone does not guarantee happiness nor insure us against dissatisfaction, so what other conditions for welfare and happiness are there?
Join us tomorrow to find out the formula for wealth and enjoy a chill evening of discussion about happiness in this life and the next!

Words are powerful. And vicious words hurt like a bullet.
All of us have felt offended from what others have said. Likewise, our words may have offended others at times too. In the online sphere this effect is amplified, and malicious comments have affected the lives of many.
Speaking mindfully is not as easy as it sounds, how then should we stay mindful of our speech? The Buddha had outlined several parameters to help us engage in useful and purposeful speech.
Join us this Thursday for a light-hearted discussion on why mindful speaking is important and learn how to speak mindfully.

In Buddhism, the 6 realms of existence are believed to be possible places we could be reborn into after death. But Heaven or Hell; do we really need to wait till the end of our life & be physically there to experience what itβs like? What if we told you that you may be experiencing them right here in this very life!
Join us this Thursday as we explore the mental states linked to the 6 realms which we may experience in our ordinary lives.

In navigating through our daily lives, many people look towards a set of principles or values to help them live a life of morality, and some may even call these values their βmoral compassβ.
Some of these moral foundations are built on religious ethics. Buddha himself gave guidelines on how to lead a wise life, tips which remain relevant even today.
Join us this Thursday as we explore the Sigalovada Sutta, also known as the Buddhist layman code of conduct.

In the pursuit of happiness in our daily activities, we may encounter dissatisfaction or suffering.
We, then, become absorbed into suffering and constantly drown ourselves in negativity.
So what is this "suffering" and how do we make sense of it?

"Is it because of your religion?" β¦ βAs a Buddhist, you can't do this right?"
Do these questions sound familiar? We often associate what we can or cannot do to our religion. Indeed, there is no denying that some of our decision making is based on our faith. But whatβs the intention behind our choices. Is it out of Fear? Obligation? Commitment?
Morality is integral in the practice of Buddhism. Many have pledged to untertake the moral code, known as the 5 precepts, to live a life guided by morality.
Join us this coming Thursday as we unpack the Buddhist moral code and explore the motivations behind them.
