This week, SMU Dhamma Circle invites our guest speaker, Phra Goh C K, to share with us on how Buddhism helps to make life worthwhile.

Ordained in 2008, Phra Goh spent his first five rains retreats at various forest monasteries in Malaysia and Thailand. He is a Member of the Inter-Religious Organisation Youth, and serves as Religious Advisor to BuddhistYouth Network and Singapore Polytechnic Buddhist Society.

SMUDC has got your back! We will be visiting 2 places on our first Temple Run this semester - Singapore Buddhist Lodge & Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. Happy Week7 everyone! We hope yall have been coping well with the Mid-terms & are going strong ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ This week, there will be NO Dhamma Circle sharing as we will be taking part in and attending SMU Interfaith Dialogue.

If you have always wanted to know more about various religions and the different ways we view "Happiness" ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿผ Theme for this year's dialogue, do join us at the sharing!

There will be a panel discussion and a question segment for the audience to raise any queries. The event will include dinner, and participants can visit informative booths manned by members of each religious community where more questions will be entertained. It is free for all SMU students to sign up!

Being happy is an important aspect in our lives. Hence, we are humbled to have Venerable Tenzin Drachom to share with us about how to be happy ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Venerable Tenzin Drachom (Fred Cheong) was ordained under His Holiness The Dalai Lama and began his monastic journey since 2013. Since his ordination, Venerable Tenzin Drachom is a firm practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism. Over the last five years, Venerable Tenzin Drachom had conducted dharma retreats all over the world such as America, China, Switzerland and Australia.

Prior to monkhood, Venerable Tenzin Drachom was the Deputy Commander of the Officer Cadet School (Army) wing. His illustrious military career includes the rescue of the hijacked Singapore airlines aircraft where he was an elite solider under the Special Operations Command.
