▪️ The RF Armed Forces carried out strikes by "Geraniums" against enemy facilities overnight. Explosions were heard in #Kiev, #Nikolayev, #Izmail, Belgorod-Dnestrovskyy, #Orlovka in the #Odessa region, near which there is a ferry crossing of the #Danube, #Zhitomir, #Khmelnitsky, #Cherkassy, #Kirovograd and #Dnepropetrovsk regions.

▪️ On the #Zaporizhzhya front the AFU tried to break through between #Rabotino and #Novoprokopovka with the forces of up to one motorized infantry platoon. One armoured vehicle was destroyed, the enemy infantry was dispersed by artillery fire. Between #Rabotino and #Kopani the enemy tried to break through the defence of our troops in several waves, heavy fighting is going on.

▪️ In the #Kherson direction, the AFU are holding, at the cost of constant losses, narrow sections of the coastal strip near the #Antonovsky and Railway bridges (our heavy flamethrower systems and aviation are constantly working on them), as well as on #Kazatsky Island against Novaya Kakhovka. Two Marine brigades transferred to the region are being replenished with personnel, and they report the presence of a significant number of pontoon crossings in the region (previously supplied from #Germany). The enemy is hatching plans to rush to occupy the islands and push through the defence of the RF Armed Forces with "meat assaults", trying to cut off our troops in the southwestern part of the region along the Novaya Kakhovka - #Perekop line.

▪️ From the southern flank of #Artyomovsk they report heavy fighting near #Andreyevka: the enemy threw up to one battalion of infantry into the battle, supported by artillery. Our troops are holding defence near the railway, meeting the enemy with fire from aviation, artillery and kamikaze UAVs.

▪️ At night, #Sevastopol repelled an attack by two MPAC (Multipurpose Assault Craft). Earlier the same one was destroyed by aviation in the northwestern part of the Black Sea. In the #Belgorod region, 6 enemy UAVs were shot down, during the day several settlements in the Shebekinsky district were shelled, and a UAV was shot down over the Grayvoron municipal district. Drones were also shot down over the #Kursk and #Bryansk regions. In the #DPR, three civilians were killed and nine wounded by Nazi fire.

🇫🇷🇳🇪 French media report that the withdrawal of the French Armed Forces contingent from Niger will begin within a week.

The General Staff noted that everything will be done in an orderly manner, in security conditions and in coordination with Niger .

We reported on the decision to withdraw troops directly to France, bypassing the redeployment to Chad, back in early August. And two weeks ago, President Macron already announced this publicly.

🔻We will just remind you once again that what is happening fits perfectly into the plans of the Elysee Palace to reduce the military presence in Africa as a whole. Nobody plans to curtail economic activity, limiting themselves perhaps to getting rid of completely unprofitable assets.

At the same time, recent (and even more so possible future ) military coups in African countries do not at all guarantee that the new authorities will no longer have contact with the mother country. It is enough to observe the situation in the Central African Republic, where there is no longer a French military presence and there is a Wagner PMC, but the entire business, financial system and accounts of the local elite are completely tied to France. And CAR President Touadera is diligently guarding the window to return to the French zone of influence.

However, options for a “raider takeover” of the assets of the Fifth Republic under the leadership of the United States are also possible, as recently happened in Gabon. In such countries, France's influence will indeed decline.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Situation in the #Kherson Direction until 13:00 on 6 October 2023⚡️

🔹 The enemy activity does not subside. Looking at the movements of the AFU, an attempt to strike with the crossing of the #Dnieper looks increasingly likely.

▪️ On the border of #Kherson and #Nikolayev regions the 35th, 36th, 37th, and 38th Separate Marines Brigades of the 30th Marine Corps are preparing to be sent to the frontlines. At least two formations are to occupy the #Kizomys - #Kherson - #Nikolskoye line in the near future.

▪️ At the same time, reconnaissance groups of the 35th and 36th Brigades are already in positions near the #Dnieper, equipping positions and establishing communications. Marine drones are actively operating along the line of contact. Frontline fighters are seeing increased use of kamikaze drones.

❗️According to the plans of the Ukrainian command, the basis for a strike in the #Kherson region will be a strike group under the conventional name "Katran". It is for them that a bridgehead is being prepared in the island zone of the #Dnieper.

📌 If we take into account the dried up areas of the #Dnieper and the increased attention of satellites to the #Kinburn peninsula, we should expect a strike from these directions in the coming weeks. Especially from #Dnepropetrovsk region were sent pontoon-bridge means removed from storage.

▪️ And in this case such attacks will rather be distracting, in order to restrain the actions of the RF Armed Forces. If this plan is successful, there will be an attempt to attack Novaya Kakhovka through #Berislav and #Kazatsky Island.

💬 The information space is actively discussing the relocation of Russian ships from #Sevastopol to #Novorossiysk and #Feodosia because of the danger of missile attacks on the fleet. However difficult it may be to recognise this, the Black Sea Fleet cannot now fully ensure its security.

❗️This requires full control not only of the Black Sea waters but also of the airspace.

🔹 As long as the enemy has access to the sea, and #NATO aviation is quietly pointing drones and missiles, the danger will remain.

🔹 At the moment, stationing ships in more distant ports is perfectly reasonable. Kalibrs can be launched from the #Novorossiysk area as well. This does not mean that the security of #Crimea will be jeopardised. No one has removed the task from the fleet. Simply replenishment of supplies will take place in the #Krasnodar territory and #Feodosia.

📌 In this case, the distance from the line of contact in the #Kherson region and from #Odessa will be 400 and 580 kilometres to #Feodosia and #Novorossiysk, which exceeds the combat range of Storm Shadow and SCALP Cruise Missiles.

The EU headquarters in Brussels just announced that it was going to resume the disbursement of an aide package planned for the years 2021-2027, but so far not given to Ethiopia. This was a form of sanctions for the Ethiopian government trying to put down an armed insurrection originating in that nation's Tigray-speaking region with the aim of overthrowing the national government.

It should be noted that this foreign supported insurrection almost succeeded in its goal. The government, however, managed to win out due to Iranian drone supplies reaching Ethiopia just as the capital, Addis Ababa, was widely being predicted as soon to be captured. The success of the Iranian drones against Western intelligence agency black market supplied weapons enabled the government to reestablish authority to the extent that BRICS membership became possible this year, sending a clear sign that Ethiopia will be given the means to fully protect its national government and that those aiding in attempted destabilization would face consequences.

After evaluating its position, the EU decided to renew a previous promise of aid without admitting that the true reason for doing so is to cut its geopolitical losses on the horn of Africa and to keep them from hemorrhaging out of control. A wise decision, even though it is too pathetically small to achieve anything other than lining the pockets of a small number of mid-level local leaders who will soon enough forget where the money came from, only remember that it was not given to them when their country needed it the most.

The use of the word, mid-level, is deliberate. The amount in question is US$680 million, which was originally supposed to be disbursed to Ethiopia, a country of 120 million people, over a period of be six years (2021-2027). In an ideal world where ideals rule supreme, that would have represented 94 cents per person per year of rapidly declining US currency being given to better the lives of Ethiopians and to help uplift them out of dire poverty.

The publicly stated goals are laughable. The reality is that a select group of probably upper mid-level Ethiopian government officials was and will be targeted with offers of sudden personal enrichment. Unfortunately, with BRICS membership and with the knowledge that Mr. Zelensky and his circle get more than a billion dollars per month from the EU, it is likely that at least some of these targeted individuals will feel offended that the EU leadership would attempt to buy them as foreign aid prostitutes for such small sums of money.

Of course, the EU will try to use the money for destabilization purposes. But, being, on the whole, well educated and representing an ancient civilization with a magnificent heritage, people may safely assume that with regard to Ethiopian leadership the effectiveness of the EU aid slush fund is to be doubted.

Nevertheless, what all this shows is that declining power is afraid of rising power. Perhaps, with luck, that might eventually lead to a healthy relationship between the EU and Ethiopia based on mutual self-respect, instead of one based on one-way exploitation which has, hitherto, been attempted. But, then again, perhaps not. EU leadership over the last several years has shown a remarkable lack of ability to understand the rest of the world.
