♦️Around #Bakhmut, after a brief lull, Ukrainian formations resumed attacks on Russian positions in small groups.

🔹 On the northern flank, the "Donbass" nationalist battalion was transferred to #Zvanovka. Apparently, in the near future the AFU will again launch attacks in the direction of #Yakovlevka.

▪️ Also last night, several assault groups on nine units of armoured vehicles of various types rolled up from the direction of Orekhovo-Vasilyevka and the highway to #Slavyansk. Army aviation helicopters made several strikes on the advancing forces, as a result of which the AFU withdrew.

▪️ Shooting battles are also taking place at the #Yagodnoye - #Berkhovka line, where the AFU is trying to break through the Russian defence with small forces.

▪️ Artillerymen of the RF Armed Forces are conducting a dense shelling on the enemy strongholds in #Khromovo.

🔹On the southern flank, near #Kleshcheyevka the enemy recovers forces. One of the unidentified AFU formations will be disbanded due to losses, and personnel will be sent to re-staff the 23rd and 33rd Mechanized Brigades in the #Orekhov and #Ugledar sections.

💬 According to the VerumReactor channel, early in the morning two AFU tanks (one with a mine trawl) and two IFVs, covering the infantry, attacked the lines of the RF Armed Forces' 72nd Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade. The artillery of the Brigade launched a strike, as a result of which at least two IFVs were hit and the others withdrew.

▪️ Overnight there were reports of explosions in the AFU-controlled #Slavyansk and #Kramatorsk. A powerful explosion took place in #Odessa. Long-range artillery strikes were carried out on #Kupyansk and border areas in #Kharkov region, where the enemy was concentrating its forces.

▪️ In the #Kherson direction, the enemy occupied a section of our bank of the #Dnieper River northwest of the #Podstepnoye settlement, is organising the supply of a landing group, and plans to transfer mortar crews. Fighting operations on the islands continue.

▪️ On the #Zaporozhye front, the main fighting took place on the line #Rabotino ( RF Armed Forces control the southern part) - #Verbovoye, which was approached by the enemy forces. The intensity of fighting varied during the day.

▪️ In the #Vremyevka sector near #Urozhaynoye, the enemy is flooding our positions with cluster munitions, our artillery fire is reported to be of lesser intensity.

In the #Belgorod region, Novaya Tavolzhanka was shelled. In the western part of the Black Sea, the RF Armed Forces aviation is fighting with varying success against the enemy's high speed small watercraft with personnel on board. The Russian Ministry of Defence yesterday night and day announced the destruction of several surface targets. ▪️ As darkness fell, the RF Armed Forces launched strikes with artillery, rocket launchers and Geranium UAVs against enemy facilities. Explosions were heard in #Kherson, #Sumy and #Kharkov regions, in #Nikolayev they reported the arrival of an #Iskander missile and our kamikaze drones, in #Slavyansk and #Konstantinovka enemy facilities were also hit.

▪️ In the #Kherson direction, the enemy is concentrating forces for the projected landing operation, trying to build up its presence on islands in the floodplain of the #Dnieper River. In particular, a control centre of the enemy's 36th Separate Marine Brigade has been deployed in the rear (the brigade was restored after its almost complete destruction and capture during the liberation of #Mariupol). The AFU engineering units conducted reconnaissance of the islands and channels of the #Dnieper, specifying the locations of possible pontoon crossings. The enemy intelligence is drawing up lists of priority targets for their simultaneous defeat in case of the start of the operation, satellite reconnaissance of the Russian units' facilities in #Kherson region and in #Crimea is being actively conducted, which indicates the probability of Nazi actions on a wide front to stretch our forces, preparation for the defeat of military control facilities and communication hubs of different security agencies, including #NATO missiles.

▪️ On the #Zaporozhye front near #Novoprokopovka the enemy tried to break through under cover of fire and artillery. Despite the total strength of the enemy's 60-70 thousand men along the entire #Zaporozhye front, the AFU is unable to effectively use its full potential. More than half of its personnel are recently mobilised and untrained, and #NATO equipment (the Western-trained mechs are running out) requires repair, as it is not new. However, the enemy is skilfully using elements of decentralisation of the command and supply system, which allows him to solve logistical issues faster than ours. The enemy is actively using drones, they report a significant number of MLRS, including a relatively new model ("Alder"), as well as the familiar HIMARS.

▪️ Heavy fighting continues near #Kleshcheyevka and #Andreyevka south of #Artyomovsk (#Bakhmut). Ours are holding positions near the railway, the villages have been wiped out. The enemy infantry units are being hit by Russian artillery trying to gain a foothold in the ruins, as indicated by objective control footage.

▪️ West of #Kremennaya near the #Torskoye ledge, the RF Armed Forces have expanded their zone of control, but these battles are of local significance, and there is no talk of a largescale offensive operation.

▪️ Yesterday it was reported that an enemy SRG attempted to break through the border at #Staroselye in the #Belgorod region, but was unsuccessful. During the day in the #Belgorod region the following were shelled: an industrial enterprise in #Shebekino, the village of #Terebreno in the Krasnoyaruzhsky district, and a UAV was shot down in the Belgorod district (a total of three during the day). In the morning in #Kursk region in #Belaya settlement, Belovsky district, an enemy drone dropped two explosive devices on a substation - 5 villages and a hospital were without light. During the night 10 UAVs were destroyed over the #Kursk region, 1 - over the #Kaluga region. Two UAVs were shot down over the #Bryansk region overnight. In the #DPR, two civilians were wounded by Nazi fire.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦🔎 The AFU faced the "Bakhmut Problem" near #Rabotino Village - Military Chronicle's Analysis⚡️

🗓 In the last four weeks, the infantry of the 116th, 117th and 118th Mechanized Brigades, used in "Meat Assaults" to save the 47th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade "Magura" and the 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade, began to die en masse while attempting to bypass the main minefields prepared before the active phase of the Ukrainian offensive began.

🔹According to Military Chronicles, the scale of the blasts was initially large but not critical, but the situation is rapidly deteriorating.

🔹The problem began to manifest itself in full force after the start of repeated mining of territories, which the Military Chronicles talked about earlier. The attempt to "find" a safe passage without the involvement of sappers, who are often unavailable at the positions, leads to the fact that anti-tank ditches are increasingly being chosen as shelters.

🔹In some cases, these structures are left deliberately, since the flexible defence tactics of the RF Armed Forces in this area allow them to choose which areas within the killing zones to launch AFU infantry into, which can then be destroyed by artillery.

🔹In the last three weeks, 152-mm howitzers have been used less and less frequently for such tasks: due to the widespread use of remote mine-clearing systems, as well as the regular work of sappers and Russian Special Forces, the anti-tank ditches are dotted with many anti-personnel mines.

🔹AFU platoons caught in such positions are almost guaranteed to die without being able to get out or receive the minimum necessary medical assistance.

🔹Even in the case of indirect contact with a mine, a moderate injury quickly turns into a serious injury due to the lack of equipment for evacuation and the terrain controlled by drones and Russian artillery.

🔹Against the background of the relatively dry weather in #Zaporozhye over the past three weeks and the overall losses of the AFU in the area, such difficulties may seem insignificant, but things may soon change.

🔹Starting on 16 October, precipitation is expected in #Zaporozhe, and all dug but uncovered trenches and abandoned anti-tank ditches will gradually fill with water. In such conditions, any wound for Ukrainian infantry is fraught with rapid death due to germs in the blood.

🔹The AFU has already experienced similar difficulties in #Bakhmut- then the filling of trenches with water and impenetrable mud led to the fact that local morgues and hospitals were filled to capacity and the wounded had to be transferred to neighbouring #Kramatorsk, #Slavyansk, #Konstantinovka and #Druzhkovka.

📌 In #Zaporozhye, the AFU has no opportunity to redirect the flow of the wounded, as well as to get them out of the trenches in a timely and safe manner after being wounded.

Rocket attacks were made in the area of #Voznesensk in #Nikolayev region and #Slavyansk (part of the #DPR occupied by the AFU). On the #Kherson front, a FAB-1500 hit an enemy temporary deployment point near #Berislav.

▪️ On the #Zaporozhye front near #Verbovoye, the AFU threw new infantry and equipment into the battle. Late units from the 71st Brigade, the 118th Mechanized Brigade, the 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade and a part of the 10th Army Corps. The Nazis failed to retake the occupied positions, and in addition, in the midst of the movement of AFU equipment, it began to rain, which limited the enemy's mobility.

▪️ In the #Avdeyevka sector, the RF Armed Forces are consolidating in previously occupied positions, artillerymen are firing at enemy fortifications and locking the AFU with fire in their positions, preventing rotation, the supply of personnel and ammunition.

▪️ In the #Kupyansk direction, against the background of the Russian successes in the area of #Sinkovka, the enemy command decided to transfer tank units of the AFU's 41st Mechanized Brigade to this section of the front.

▪️ Over the past day, the situation in the #Kherson direction was characterised by mutual artillery shelling. The enemy is also hitting the civilian population. Yesterday the head of the region reported that an 82-year-old woman in #Alyoshki and a 52-year-old civilian in Cossack Camps were wounded.

▪️ From #Berdyansk in #Zaporozhye region, local groups report that our air defence was working all night, with the enemy's main strike concentrated on the airport area. In #Belgorod region, 3 aircraft-type UAVs were shot down by the air defence system in Yakovlevsky city district and Belgorod district. In the #DPR, a civilian was wounded as a result of shelling by the AFU.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ #Chronicle of the Special Military Operation for 17 October 2023⚡️

🔹This morning, the AFU launched missile strikes on the #Berdyansk Airfield, using an American ATACMS ballistic missile and several GLSDB shells to attack it. Some of them were shot down by air defences, but several reached the target, hitting an ammunition depot and several Russian Aerospace Forces helicopters.

🔹In the #Kherson direction, Ukrainian formations, operating along the railway bridge, made a breakthrough and occupied the village of #Poyma on the left bank of the #Dnieper. After the arrival of reinforcements, the AFU moved on and managed to reach the northern outskirts of #Peschanovka. The fighting in the area continues.

🔹In the #Svatovo sector, Russian forces continue their positional offensive from #Ploshchanka towards #Makeyevka. The AFU is transferring fresh forces to this section and is trying to establish new crossings near #Borovaya to improve its logistical capabilities.

🔹Overnight, the RF Armed Forces launched strikes on the rear facilities of the Ukrainian formations. The AFU's deployment points in #Odessa, #Slavyansk, and presumably the airfield in #Voznesensk, were hit.
