⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Situation in #Zaporozhye Direction at 12:00 on 17 Oct 2022⚡️
The AFU is conducting a position defense and reinforcing troop grouping.
▪️ 250 mobilized citizens have been transferred to #Kamyshevakha to complete the 9th Separate Special Operations Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine. 100 of them will be distributed to assault groups on the front line in the coming days.
▪️ Several dozen men are planned to be sent to Malaya Tokmachka to replenish the strength of the 2nd Battalion of the 9th OP NSU. Russian artillery struck one of the battalion´s bases and eliminated more than a dozen soldiers.
▪️ Due to the increasing intensity of the Russian Forces' strikes, an AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar was moved to the vicinity of #Odarovka. And to counter Russian Geran-2 UAVs, the Strela-10 surface-to-air missile defence system was deployed in #Dimitrovo.
▪️ Two M777 howitzers were moved to the 44th Separate Artillery Brigade and several 120-mm mortars to the AFU´s 102nd Territorial Defence Brigade in the Gulyaypole area.
▪️ The AFU continue to have informants in #Vasilievsky and #Kamenskoye - #Dneprovsky districts of #Zaporozhye Region transmitting data on the movement and deployment of Russian troops.
▪️ On the right bank of the #Dnipro the additional equipment of the fortified area has begun. The AFU command predicts an offensive of Russian Forces on #Zaporozhye, followed by a crossing of the #Dnipro. The fortified area is to prevent the Russian Forces from occupying the right bank of #Zaporozhye and reaching #Nikopol.

🔹 Ukrainian Formations continue preparations for the announced offensive. Additional units from #Poltava region are being moved to #Zaporozhye region.
▪️ According to some reports, the movement of the 116th and 118th Mechanized Brigades of the 10th Army Corps together with their equipment has begun to the area of #Tavriyskoye, #Odarovka and #Slavnoye. These two formations have been assigned the main task of breaking through to #Melitopol.
▪️ At the moment, at the turn of #Slavnoye - #Odarovka, the equipment of the positional areas of the howitzer-self-propelled and reactive divisions of the 118th Mechanized Brigade are being equipped. At the same time, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Battalions are preparing for an assault in the #Rabotino - #Ocheretovatoye direction with subsequent access to #Melitopol.
▪️ In the vicinity of #Stepnogorsk, after the forced evacuation of civilians, a HIMARS positioning area has been equipped. Militants of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade spread information that preparations for the offensive are in the final stages.
▪️ In addition, assault detachments of the 71st Jager Brigade of the AFU have taken up positions along the #Kakhovka reservoir. According to residents of #Kherson region, fishing suits have been handed over to the positions near the coast.
