The crew of the Russian Navy’s” Varyag” missile cruiser began a series of exercises today in the Mediterranean Sea, carrying out detection and destruction missions of small, high-speed targets.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the sailors secured the ship’s camouflage using a circular smoke screen, and the cruiser’s teams underwent extensive training on distributing targets correctly to ensure they are targeted effectively, especially in the face of attacks by unmanned boats.

The crew carried out training on destroying a floating sea mine using an effective explosion process, which reflects their readiness to confront various maritime threats.

The sailors were able to repel an attack from an “enemy” ship using modern “AK-130” and “AK-630” artillery systems, as they struck a target simulating a surface ship with remarkable efficiency.
