On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Denis Sassou Nguesso, the Medal of Honor for his great contribution to developing and strengthening relations between the two countries.
The text of the decree published on the official portal of legal documents stated: βFor his significant contribution to the development and strengthening of relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Congo, the Medal of Honor was awarded to the President of the Republic of Congo, Sassou Nguesso Denis.β
The President of the Republic of the Congo arrived in Russia on Tuesday for a visit that will continue until Saturday, June 29.
During a meeting with Putin in Moscow, Nguesso praised the strength and resilience of the Russian authorities and people in the face of illegally imposed sanctions as a result of the conflict in Ukraine and other conflicts.
