The Chadian capital, N’Djamena, witnessed an accident on Tuesday evening, as a fire broke out in an army ammunition depot, resulting in a series of explosions.

Chadian Foreign Minister Abderrahmane Gholamallah confirmed that the accident claimed the life of at least one person and injured others.

Eyewitnesses in the surrounding areas reported that they saw three injured people in the street, and two of them were transported to the hospital using motorcycles.

Pictures of empty artillery shells falling on homes appeared in local media, sparking panic among residents.
