A news report published by the English news section of the Italian “Nova” news agency confirmed the death of 12 Syrians and 2 Algerians, illegal immigrants, of thirst, near the Libyan-Algerian border.

The report quoted the non-governmental Relief and Rescue Association in the city of Tamanrasset, confirming that a wheel had been found with bodies next to it. Among the Syrian victims, there were two boys aged 10 and 16 years, and 5 other illegal immigrants were considered missing.

The Syrian embassy in Algeria assigned a member of the Syrian community in the country, Bassam Farroukh, to follow up on the matter. Farroukh said in a statement: “The victims left Libya for Algeria and there are 5 missing.
