The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources intends to establish a complex for extracting minerals, most notably gold and silver, with investments amounting to about 700 million pounds in Aswan, divided into two phases.

Government sources reported that the” Shalateen Mineral Resources” Company, which owns the project, will manage the complex’s investments and plans to pump them in two phases ending in May 2026.

The “Gas Egypt” Company is implementing the first phase of the project, as the company received the complex’s land and began implementing the surveying works, which will be followed by implementing the foundations and infrastructure works, with the first phase expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025.

The Algerian Ministry of Energy announced on Wednesday that Niger is ready to provide the appropriate conditions for the return of the Algerian company Sonatrach to resume its activities in the country, especially in the oil field in the Kafra region.

This came during a meeting between the Nigerien Minister of Petroleum, Maman Mustafa Barki Bako, and the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, in the Nigerian capital, Niamey.

During the meeting, the Nigerien minister stressed his country’s commitment to facilitating the work of Sonatrach in the region, proposing the formation of a joint working group of experts from the two countries to intensify cooperation and follow up on the implementation of current and future projects.
