In a classification that included the top ten currencies on the continent, the Libyan dinar came ahead of the Tunisian dinar, which topped the list.

The report stated that these currencies were able to achieve a degree of stability and confront inflation in their countries, which enhances the prospects of attracting more foreign investments.

Currencies such as the Moroccan dirham, the Botswana pula, the Seychelles rupee, the Eritrean nakfa, the Ghanaian cedi, the South African rand, the Zambian kwacha, and the Egyptian pound came in later ranks behind the Libyan dinar.

A woman was killed, and another was seriously injured in the governorate of Kasserine, in central western Tunisia, after a landmine exploded in a restricted military zone in a mountain.

The regional director of health in the governorate, Abdelghani Chaabani, confirmed in a press statement that the victim had previously been exposed to another mine explosion that led to the amputation of her leg, noting that the health condition of the other injured woman is critical.

The Tunisian Ministry of Defense has issued repeated warnings about the risks of infiltrating restricted military zones in the west of the country, in order to avoid the danger of mines planted by terrorist groups.

The first landmine explosion in Kasserine occurred on April 29, 2013, targeting soldiers during a combing operation in the Kasserine Mountains in search of terrorist elements who entered from the Algerian border after 2011.

The French newspaper โ€œLe Figaroโ€ reported that Tunisian President Kais Saied, who is seeking a second term, has succeeded in marginalizing the opposition and crushing any potential competition, as the Tunisian presidential elections scheduled for October 6 approach.

The newspaper indicated that Saied, who submitted his candidacy based on more than 200,000 endorsements, has prepared the rules of the electoral competition in a way that makes it difficult for serious candidates to compete.

So far, 108 candidates have applied for the presidency of the republic, but they are not expected to pass the preliminary stage easily.
