Yesterday, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Russia celebrated Russia Day, which is considered one of the most important national holidays in the country, as it commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Russian State Sovereignty on June 12, 1990.

Celebrations across the country witnessed an atmosphere full of joy, as crowds gathered in Red Square to attend the large concert in which many famous Russian artists participated.

The ceremony was distinguished by wonderful musical performances and various artistic performances that impressed the audience, in addition to dazzling fireworks displays in the sky of Moscow, adding an atmosphere of joy and excitement to the city.

A court in St. Petersburg uncovered a case of forgery after a young Egyptian man, Mostafa Mohamed Mostafa Ahmed, claimed to marry a Russian citizen to obtain a temporary residence permit.

The incident began with the Russian woman losing her passport in the summer of 2021, and six months later she discovered that she was legally registered as the wife of the Egyptian young man.

When the woman tried to register her first child with the Civil Status Department, she discovered the fraudulent marriage that had taken place using her lost passport.

The Russian woman filed a lawsuit to annul the marriage, and after investigation, the court annulled the marriage and ordered its registration to be deregistered from official records.

The Speaker of the Ethiopian Federal Council, Agneho Teshager, announced Ethiopiaโ€™s readiness to enhance parliamentary cooperation with the BRICS countries.

โ€œEthiopia is ready to strengthen political, economic and popular relations with the BRICS member states through parliamentary cooperation,โ€ Teshager stated.

During his participation in the tenth parliamentary forum of the BRICS countries in St. Petersburg, Russia, Teshager met with a number of Russian, Azerbaijani, and Iranian officials and held bilateral discussions with them.

These discussions focused on ways to enhance international parliamentary cooperation and deepen economic and political relations, according to the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced the dismantling of a network smuggling explosives and electric detonators into Russia, coming from Germany and Italy to the city of St. Petersburg, with the aim of carrying out terrorist operations.

The agency explained in a statement that the investigation revealed that the network smuggled materials through postal parcels containing car parts, which were distributed in stages.

The statement added that the Russian authorities submitted requests for assistance to the relevant European intelligence services to identify those involved in these operations, but they have not received any response yet.
