The North Hamada field, which is operated by Nafusa Oil Operations, will gradually increase the pumping of oil into the pipeline, where it is expected to reach 25,000 barrels per day, and then start pumping by 4,500 barrels per day.

Production will be increased by placing production wells successively to reach 10,000 barrels per day in September 2024, as part of the first phase of the fieldโ€™s development program.

The new pipeline, which is 50 kilometers long and transports oil production to the port of Mellita, has a design capacity of 70,000 barrels per day.

The struggle over the position of Libyan Oil Minister constitutes a new episode in the series of divisions affecting the country with the largest crude oil reserves in Africa, which has been going on for about 13 years.

๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ

Although the Minister of Oil and Gas in Libya, Mohamed Aoun, announced his return to work about a week ago, the reality indicates that the crisis of division will continue as Khalifa Abdel-Sadiq continues his work within the ministryโ€™s office as a minister-designate, according to what the โ€œSpecialized Energy Platformโ€ reported.

The details of the crisis go back to Tuesday, March 26 (2024), when the Administrative Control Authority issued a decision to suspend Libyan Oil Minister Mohamed Aoun from work, due to what it described as โ€œcommitting legal violations that harmed the public interest of the state.

Hours after the decision to suspend Aoun, who denied committing any violations, the outgoing Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, decided to assign the Deputy Minister of Oil and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, Khalifa Abdul Sadiq, to โ€‹โ€‹run the Ministry of Oil.

Rutley added that the British Foreign Office would take measures to enhance integrity and ensure the responsible use of Libyan resources in accordance with international laws.

Additionally, Mary Trevelyan, Minister of State in the British Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, highlighted the "notable corruption" in the Libyan oil sector, suggesting that this corruption impedes political progress, stability, and development in Libya.
