The first train carrying 41 Russian tourists to North Korea set off on Thursday morning after a 4-year hiatus at the request of Pyongyang due to the Corona virus pandemic.

The Russian Federal Customs Service reported on its “Telegram” channel that the train departed via the “Khasan” crossing.

Earlier, regional authorities announced plans to resume the train service running along the Vladivostok – Khasan – Tumangang – Rason route.

Since last February, Russian authorities have started sending tourist groups to North Korea by air.

The relevant authorities have improved the summer tour programs, which will last between eight and twelve days, allowing Russian tourists to relax on the beaches of the neighboring country.

The Annual inflation rates in Tunisia stabilized at 7.2 percent last May, unchanged from the previous April figures.

This came in a statement issued by the National Institute of Statistics in Tunisia on Thursday, in which it said that stability resulted from the rise in prices of major groups and the decline of other groups.

On the other hand, the prices of the clothing and footwear group fell to 9.5 percent in May compared to 9.7 percent in April, and the prices of the restaurant, cafe and hotel services group fell to 10.2 percent from 10.4 percent.

The World Bank raised its forecast for Egypt’s economic growth to 4.2% during the fiscal year 2024/2025, indicating that the “Ras El Hekma” deal that Egypt concluded with the UAE will enhance investment and support growth rates.

A recent report issued by the World Bank stated that global interest rates “will remain at double the average in the period from 2000 to 2019, which will curb growth and increase debt pressures on emerging market countries borrowing in dollars.”

The report indicated that “the economies of countries that represent 80% of the world’s population and their gross product will grow at a slower pace than before the Corona pandemic until 2026.

The consumer price inflation rate in Tunisia rose slightly to 7.3% on an annual basis last June, compared to 7.2% the previous May, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics.

The institute attributed the increase in annual inflation to the acceleration of the rise in prices of the food and beverage group, which recorded an increase of 10.1% in June, compared to 9.7% in May.

On the other hand, the rate of price increases for the group of restaurant, hotel and café services declined to 9.9% in June, compared to 10.2% in May.

This comes in light of the stability of the main interest rate at 8%, according to the decision of the Central Bank of Tunisia issued last month, as the Tunisian government seeks to curb inflation and restore the downward path of consumer prices.
