Hello from DR Congo🇨🇩 from the very heart of Africa bubbling over with thousands tons of glowing avalanche of Nyiragongo volcano 🌋
MZUNGU EXPEDITIONS team has ascended one of the five existing in the world volcanos with permanent lava lake. Nyiragongo (3470 m) is the most active volcano of the Black continent and is famous for the biggest 2-kilometer crater and especially for paehoehoe lava, which poses a threat to the neighbor city of Goma in case of its eruption. The speed of running along the slope lava can reach 100 km/h.
We spent a night in small houses at the edge of caldera and enjoyed the greatest fire show in the world!

Команда MZUNGU EXPEDITIONS совершила трекинг к горным гориллам 🦍 в Непроходимом Лесу Бвинди (Bwindi Impenetrable National Park) в Уганде. Горные гориллы - один из наиболее редких видов приматов, которых на сегодняшний день в мире насчитывается немногим более тысячи особей. Три соседних государства - Уганда, Руанда и ДР Конго успешно охраняют этих уникальных животных и популяция медленно растёт. Непроходимый лес Бвинди насчитывает половину всех горных горилл, живущих в мире.
Нам удалось приблизиться максимально близко к 22-летнему сильвербэку Мукиза и его группе, состоящей из 18 горилл. Безусловно, это стало одним из сильнейших впечатлений нашего путешествия.

Mountain gorilla is one of the rarest kind of primates, which counts a little more than a thousand of species. Three neighbor states - Uganda, Rwanda and DR Congo successfully protect these unique animals, and their population is slowly growing.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park counts a half of all gorillas living in the world.
We succeed in maximum approaching a 22-year-old silver back Mukiza and his group of 18 gorillas. It was absolutely one of the greatest impressions of our trip.

В джунглях ДР Конго, Уганды, ЦАР, Габона и Камеруна живут пигмейские племена, считающиеся самыми низкорослыми на Земле. Рост некоторых мужчин бамбути, батва, бака и других пигмеев не превышает 120-130 см. Такой рост сложился в ходе эволюции и идеален для жизни охотой и собирательством в густом подлеске дождевого леса Центральной Африки. Пигмеи обладают феноменальной скоростью и ловкостью. Не обладая какой то особой техникой, именно за счёт скорости они переиграли в футбол все наши экспедиции.
Однако рост пигмеев едва ли имеет значение в определении стандартов красоты этого племени. Самым красивым мужчиной считается тот, который... сумел достать с высоченного дерева для своей любимой мёд - единственную доступную в джунглях сладость. Эти акробатические номера мужчины совершают, рискуя жизнью, лишь бы добиться расположения женщин.

🇨🇩ПЛЕМЕНА: МБУТИ – САМЫЕ НИЗКОРОСЛЫЕ ЛЮДИ НА ПЛАНЕТЕ🌍

В тропических лесах провинции Итури (ДР Конго) живут самые низкорослые на планете люди — пигмеи племени мбути. Их средний рост составляет 135 см.
Пигмеи мбути меняют раз в пятилетку свои стоянки, чтобы все ближе перекочевывать к цивилизации — возле дорог и рек они могут поменять свою добычу в виде шкур, мяса, дикорастущих плодов и ягод на необходимые им достижения культурной жизни — соль, спички, металлические предметы. Но в остальном жизнь мбути никак не изменилась, они, как и в прошлые века, остаются всё теми же собирателями и кочевыми охотниками, сохранив свою традиционную культуру.
В лесу Итури проживает около 5 тысяч пигмеев. Их доля нелегка. Другие племена семьи банту презирали и даже охотились на них. Существовало поверье, что, если съесть мясо пигмея, можно обрести магическую силу. В общем, каннибализм тут процветал и, говорят, еще не искоренен.

🇨🇩TRIBES: MBUTI ARE THE SHORTEST PEOPLE ON THE PLANET🌍

In the tropical forests of the province of Ituri (DR Congo), the world's smallest people live - the pygmies of the Mbuti tribe. Their average height is 135 cm.
The pygmies of Mbuti change their homes every five years and move closer to civilization - near roads and rivers, where they can exchange their prey - animal skins, meat, wild fruits and berries for the products of civilization they need-salt, matches, metal objects. But otherwise the life of Mbuti has not changed. Like in previous centuries, they remain the same nomadic hunters and gutheres, retaining their traditional culture.
In the forest of Ituri, there are about 5 thousand Pygmies. Their life is not easy. Other tribes of the Bantu family despised and even used to hunt them. There was a belief that if you eat pygmy meat, you can gain magical power. In general, cannibalism here flourished and, they say, has not yet been eradicated.

Легенда об Ибоге началась с исчезновения мужа Bandzioku, жительницы пигмейского племени. Он пропал в глубинах леса, и его тело так и не было обнаружено. В соответствии с древними обычаями племени, она вышла замуж за сводного брата ушедшего мужа.
Однажды, во время рыбалки, она обнаружила в своих сетях человеческие кости, принадлежавшие её первому супругу. Это привело её к странной встрече с мистическим животным, ведущим её к таинственной пещере Kakonangonda. Внутри пещеры, она столкнулась с голосами духов и опробовала корень Ибоги, который открыл ей взгляд на мир душ ушедших.

Духи потребовали от неё регулярные жертвы, и она их приносила.

В очередной раз, когда Bandzioku принесла свои подношения в пещеру, духи вне себя от волнения закричали: "Мума, Мума!" - что в данном контексте означало приближение неосвященного. Женщина попыталась убедить духов, что она пришла в одиночестве, но обернулась и увидела мужа, скрывающегося за деревом.Не колеблясь, она предложила ему отведать корень Ибоги, и он тоже увидел мир духов.

Для того, чтобы мзунгу (белому человеку) узнать побольше про этот культ и древнюю религию, нужно отправиться с нами в экспедицию в Центральную Африканскую Республику и республику Конго в январе!

🇨🇬 🇨🇫 THE IBOGA CULT - HALLUCINOGEN SACRED PLANT 🍭🌿

The legend of Iboga began with the disappearance of Bandzioku's husband, a member of the Pygmy tribe. He vanished deep into the forest, and his body was never found. Following the ancient customs of her tribe, she married her departed husband's stepbrother.
One day, while fishing, she found human bones in her nets, which belonged to her first husband. This led her to a strange encounter with a mystical creature that guided her to the mysterious Kakonangonda cave. Inside the cave, she encountered the voices of spirits and tasted the Iboga root, which opened her eyes to the world of departed souls.

The spirits demanded regular sacrifices from her, and she complied.

On one occasion, as Bandzioku brought her offerings to the cave, the spirits cried out in excitement, "Muma, Muma!" in this context meaning the approach of an uninitiated person. She tried to convince the spirits that she had come alone, but as she turned, she saw her husband hiding behind a tree. Without hesitation, she offered him a taste of the Iboga root, and he too glimpsed the world of spirits.

Уэссо - деревня Одзала - деревня пигмеев бака. Пигмеи в этой местности практикуют галлюциногенный эффект дерева Ибога. Обычно они делают это ночью. Он совершается иначе, чем ритуал бвити в Габоне.

Дерево ибога занимает центральное место в духовных практиках бвити в западно-центральной Африке, в основном в Габоне, Камеруне и Республике Конго, где содержащие алкалоиды корни или кора используются в различных церемониях для создания околосмертного опыта. 🇨🇬 🇨🇫 CAR & CONGO. IBOGA PRACTICE - SACRED HALLUCINOGENIC PLANT 🍭🌿

Wesso, the village of Odzala, is the home of the Baka pygmies. In this region, the pygmies engage in the hallucinogenic effects of the Iboga tree. They typically do this at night, and the ritual differs from the Bwiti ceremony in Gabon.

The Iboga tree holds a central place in the spiritual practices of Bwiti in West-Central Africa, primarily in Gabon, Cameroon, and the Republic of Congo. Its roots and bark, containing alkaloids, are used in various ceremonies to induce near-death experiences. Iboga is consumed in large doses by those initiated into this spiritual practice, and it is also ingested more regularly in smaller amounts during rituals and tribal dances.
