Нганасаны - одни из самых древних, самых северных и самых немногочисленных на сегодняшний день народов. По данным переписи 2010 года их насчитывалось порядка 800 человек.
Нганасаны традиционно были полукочевым народом, основной формой существования которого была охота на диких оленей, в отличие от ненцев, которые пасли оленей.

The first people we met on Taymyr were the Nganasans, according to some sources the most ancient of the northern peoples, and certainly the most northern.
Once the Nganasans hunting wild deer inhabited the northern part of the Taymyr Peninsula.
The Nganasans were the last to engage in reindeer husbandry among the others.
Perhaps, their poor experience did not allow them to survive the difficult time, and in the 90s, having lost their reindeer, they were forced to move to modern settlements, such as village Novaya. Today there are less than 800 of them, and those who remember the language and traditions are no more than two hundred.
We visited the Nganasan women Daria Momde and Nadezhda Asyandu, representatives of two of the 11 Nganasan clans.
The Nganasans are very distinctive. So, until the last moment, they remained true to their pagan beliefs and did not accept Christianity.

🇷🇺ДОЛГАНЫ – КТО ОНИ?🦌🛷
Долганы – самый северный тюркоязычный народ мира и самый молодой в России народ. Они населяют Таймырский полуостров на Крайнем Севере России. Как отдельный этнос они были признаны лишь в конце 50-х годов прошлого века.
Сегодня принято считать, что долганы, по сути - «объякученные тунгусы».
Культы долган схожи с эвенкийскими. В мировоззрении народа три мира: верхний (мир божеств и сильнейших духов), средний (мир людей) и нижний (мир мертвых). Задача шамана состоит в том, чтобы держать связь между миром людей и остальными мирами.
Долганы раньше были кочевым народом, но в советское время практически полностью осели в поселках.
В апреле 2022 года мы отправимся к одним из последних представителей оленеводов долган, которые продолжают кочевать вместе со своими балками – квадратными домами на полозьях, обшитыми оленьими шкурами. Это позволяет долганам выживать в экстремально высоких температурах крайнего севера.

The Dolgans are the northernmost Turkic-speaking people in the world and the youngest people in Russia. They inhabit the Taymyr Peninsula in the Far North of Russia. They were recognized as a separate ethnic group only at the end of the 50s of the last century.
Today it is generally accepted that the Dolgans are, in fact, "loose Tungus".
Dolgan cults are similar to Evenk cults. There are three worlds in the worldview of the people: the upper (the world of deities and the strongest spirits), the middle (the world of people) and the lower (the world of the dead). The shaman's job is to keep the connection between the human world and the rest of the worlds.
The Dolgans used to be a nomadic people, but in Soviet times they almost completely settled in the villages.
In April 2022, we will go to one of the last representatives of the Dolgans reindeer herders, who continue to roam along with their baloks - square dwellings on sledges, covered with reindeer skins. This allows the Dolgans to survive in the extremely high temperatures of the High North.

🇷🇺 ЖИЛИЩА НАРОДОВ СЕВЕРА: ЧУМ, БАЛОК и ЯРАНГА ❄️
Для любителей этники может это и повседневные понятия. Но мы решили освежить нашу память 🙃 Итак! ЧУМ, БАЛОК И ЯРАНГА. Нет, это не заклинание, а виды традиционных жилищ северных народов.
❄️ Чум - традиционное жилище ненцев. Чум укрывается двумя пологами, сшитыми из 30-40 оленьих шкур каждый. Как и в одежде, верхний слой мехом наружу, а внутренний - ворсом вовнутрь.
❄️ Чукчи живут в ярангах. Эти большие разборные жилища достаточно холодные, дымоход здесь устроен «по-чёрному», через входную дверь. Зато спальный полог меховой, отапливаемый свечой или керосинкой изнутри, благодаря чему чукчи спят зимой без верхней одежды.
❄️ Оленеводы-долганы изобрели новое жилище - балок, дом на полозьях, также обшитый оленьими шкурами. Это новация помогает долганам кочевать в экстремально высоких температурах крайнего севера, не разбирая жилище!
Наши экспедиции предполагают полное погружение в быт и культуру северных народов, поэтому мы ночуем в их традиционных жилищах🤩

🇷🇺 CHUM, BALOK & YARANGA — TRADITIONAL DWELLINGS OF THE NORTH ❄️
If you are an ethnic-lover the meanings of these words are as easy as alphabet. Anyway, let’s do a brief recap. SO! СHUM, BALOK & YARANGA!
❄️ Сhum – is the traditional dwelling of the Nenets people. There are two covers, sewn from 30-40 reindeer skins each. The same as in case of clothing, the top cover is fur-out, and the inside one is fur-inside.
❄️ The Chukchi live in yarangas - large collapsible dwellings made of poles and reindeer skins. This is a rather cold dwelling, the chimney is arranged through the front door. However, the sleeping canopy is made of two layers of fur, heated by a candle or a kerosene stove which makes the Chukchi sleep in winter without outer clothing.
❄️ Dolgan reindeer herders live in balok, a house on sleds, also covered with reindeer skins. This kind of innovative construction helps Dolgans to migrate in the extreme weather conditions, without dismantling the dwelling before transfer.
Our expeditions allow to immerse into everyday life and culture of Northen peoples, that’s why we usually stay in their traditional dwellings 🤩

❄️ Чукчи живут в ярангах. Эти большие разборные жилища достаточно холодные, дымоход здесь устроен «по-чёрному», через входную дверь. Зато спальный полог меховой, отапливаемый свечой или керосинкой изнутри, благодаря чему чукчи спят зимой без верхней одежды.
❄️ Оленеводы-долганы изобрели новое жилище - балок, дом на полозьях, также обшитый оленьими шкурами. Это новация помогает долганам кочевать в экстремально высоких температурах крайнего севера, не разбирая жилище!

🇷🇺 CHUM, BALOK & YARANGA — TRADITIONAL DWELLINGS OF THE NORTH ❄️
If you are an ethnic-lover the meanings of these words are as easy as alphabet. Anyway, let’s do a brief recap. SO! СHUM, BALOK & YARANGA!
❄️ Сhum – is the traditional dwelling of the Nenets people. There are two covers, sewn from 30-40 reindeer skins each. The same as in case of clothing, the top cover is fur-out, and the inside one is fur-inside.
❄️ The Chukchi live in yarangas - large collapsible dwellings made of poles and reindeer skins. This is a rather cold dwelling, the chimney is arranged through the front door. However, the sleeping canopy is made of two layers of fur, heated by a candle or a kerosene stove which makes the Chukchi sleep in winter without outer clothing.
❄️ Dolgan reindeer herders live in balok, a house on sleds, also covered with reindeer skins. This kind of innovative construction helps Dolgans to migrate in the extreme weather conditions, without dismantling the dwelling before transfer.

❄️На 72-й параллели, в 600 с лишним километрах за пределами Северного полярного круга, где почти нет посёлков и почти не живут люди, где за всю экспедицию нам не встретилась на дороге ни единая автомашина или вездеход, где нам самим пришлось проехать 800 с лишним километров и провести почти 2 суток в дороге, все ещё выживают последние долганы-оленеводы Таймыра.
👣 Культура, которая безусловно стоит внимания любого опытного путешественника, этнографа и фотографа. Культура уникальная и стремительно исчезающая. Исчезающая, пожалуй, быстрее других культур российского севера. А с ней соседствует практически ассимилированная культура нганасан — самых северных людей России. Их осталось меньше 800 человек, и какие нибудь полсотни помнят родной язык.
👣 Это едва ли тот случай, когда можно отложить «на завтра».
Со мной на борту были большие путешественники и исследователи Понг Тантхасиндху из Таиланда и грек Бабис Бизас — самый путешествующий человек мира. Они приехали увидеть уникальное, несмотря ни на что.
Путешествия без границ, чтобы успеть увидеть то, что завтра может исчезнуть.
📍Следующая экспедиция к долганам Таймыра — в апреле 2023.
📍В августе 2023 мы также планируем летнюю экспедицию на Таймыр, к оленеводам долганам в сезон летнего кочевья и к кратеру Попигайского метеорита.

❄️The culture, which is definitely worth the attention of any experienced traveler, ethnographer and photographer. This culture is unique and is rapidly disappearing. It disappears, perhaps, faster than other cultures of the Russian North. And it is neighbored with the almost assimilated culture of Nganasans - the most northern people of Russia. There are less than 800 of them left and only half a hundred of them remember their native language.
👣This is hardly a case where you can put off "for tomorrow". With me on board were the great travelers and explorers Pong Tanthasindhu from Thailand and the Greek Babis Bizas, the world's most traveled man. They came to see the unique no matter what.
Travelling without borders, to catch a chance to see the things that may disappear tomorrow.
📍The next expedition to the Dolgans of Taymyr is in April 2023.
📍In August 2023, we are also planning a summer expedition to the Taymyr Peninsula, to the Dolgan reindeer herders during the summer nomadic season and to the Popigai meteorite crater.
