My friend made a mod for minecraft whichs adds the 1.13 command tab autocomplete to 1.8.9
He calls it BackportedCompletions (mods please inform me if this counts as advertisement as I'm not sure and saw others advertising their own mods).

If the mod gets enough traction I might be able to convince him to make it for 1.12.2 so it can be paired with modpacks for that version.
