Top 5 Things To Know About The North-South Corridor

#TLDR Wondering what the North-South Corridor #NSC is and how you can benefit from it? Check out our visuals for a quick summary of the top 5 things that you need to know!

🛣 To find out more, watch this video to see how we are redefining journeys with the #NSC bit.ly/NSC-IntroVideo
#PSA 📢 As part of the ongoing construction works 🚧 for the North-South Corridor (#NSC), we’ll be shifting the existing ERP gantry along Thomson Rd by about 25m.

#DontBeAlarmed if you see two ERP structures along this stretch of Thomson Rd during the relocation.
#PSA 📢 We’ve temporarily reconfigured Thomson Rd (City bound) at Novena central to ensure safe tunnelling works for #NSC. 🚧

🚗🛵 Motorists are advised to factor in additional time when travelling through this area.

#PSA Construction of the North-South Corridor (#NSC) project is in full swing from the North to the city. When completed, it will redefine journeys in the region and benefit not just motorists, but also public transport commuters, cyclists and pedestrians.

🚧 To facilitate the next phase of works in Novena, the junctions between Thomson, Newton and Moulmein Roads will be reconfigured, starting from 21 Oct 2022.

#ICYMI The upcoming North-South Corridor (#NSC) will vastly improve travel for everyone in the region - be it motorists, bus commuters, cyclists or pedestrians. 🚌 🚗🚴🏽‍♀️🚶🏻
#RedefiningJourneysForTomorrow

As it passes busy and heavily built-up areas, some disamenities during its construction are inevitable, though we strive to limit inconvenience as much as possible. This includes traffic diversions, which are needed to create space for the works.

🚥 From 30 Apr, the existing junction between Marymount Road, Sin Ming Avenue and Bishan St 22 will be replaced by a roundabout for about a year. This will allow for NSC tunnel works under the existing junction to proceed in a safe and efficient manner.

👀 Check out this visual for more more info on this change and stay tuned for updates.
#PSA The 21.5km North-South Corridor (#NSC) will support new developments in the North and alleviate congestion along major roads such as the #CTE. It will also allow for surface streets in the region to be repurposed to provide more space for bus commuters, pedestrians and cyclists. 🚙🏍️ 🚲🚶🏻

🚧 As the NSC passes underneath existing roads such as Thomson Road, there will be some road changes to ensure that the construction works proceed safely.

From 23 July 🗓️, the existing PIE exit 17D (towards Thomson Road) will be rerouted via Mount Pleasant Road instead. Motorists and bus commuters are advised to:

🗺️ Plan ahead for your journeys and cater additional travel time, especially during peak hours.

🛣️ Look out for directional signs to navigate through the area.

🚏🚌 Take bus services 132 & 156 at the new temporary bus stop after Mount Pleasant Road (instead of near the Old Police Academy).

#ICYMI The upcoming North-South Corridor (#NSC) will not only facilitate smoother journeys via its tunnel and viaduct - it will also transform its surrounding streetscape. With the NSC, the surface streets will have less traffic, and more space will be put aside for walking, cycling, buses and recreation. 🚌🚴🏽‍♀️🚶🏻🌳

#ComingUp Together with the National Parks Board, we will be collaborating with the community and various interest groups through a series of engagements to see how we can enhance these surface streets.🏡

👀 Check out a photo 📸 from our first engagement session today! #StayTuned There’ll be more such sessions to come and we invite all stakeholders to share your views and ideas for enhancing the streets along NSC! 🤝🏼

#PSA To facilitate the construction of the North-South Corridor (#NSC) tunnel in the Marymount area, the existing Marymount Flyover will be closed to traffic from 8 Oct 2023 onwards. 🚧⛔️

Motorists travelling along Marymount Road will be diverted to a new road that intersects with Braddell Road.🚦🛣️

As part of the NSC tunnel runs underneath the flyover, this diversion will create the space required for the construction works. #ThankYouForUnderstanding

👀 Watch this video for more info on the changes.
#PSA We’ve just launched a Request for Proposal for a Master Plan consultancy to remake the surface streets along the North-South Corridor (#NSC)!

As we progressively complete the NSC’s tunnel and viaduct, surface streets along the corridor, such as Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 and Ophir Road, can be repurposed (~30 football fields of space!) to give more priority for walking, cycling, buses, and community spaces. 🚴🏽‍♂️🚶🏻‍♀️🚌

#DoYouKnow that we’ve been engaging residents and other stakeholders on their ideas (see photos above!) for these spaces since July 2023? #NowYouKnow 🏘️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

We’re now inviting experienced multi-disciplinary consultancy firms to develop a Master Plan to repurpose these spaces to promote #WalkCycleRide and make the streets along the corridor safer, more pleasant and welcoming for everyone!

Stay tuned for more details! 😎
