• Жить хорошо! А хорошо жить ещё лучше!
[zhyt' kha-ra-sho. a kha-ra-sho zhyt' yishcho luch-she]
🇬🇧 Life is (a) good (thing)! But a good life is even better!

🔻This is a famous Russian catchphrase from the Soviet movie "The Caucasian Prisoner and New Adventures of Shurik".

🔻This is an eccentric comedy about a student named Shurik, who goes to the Caucasus for work and meets local chief Saakhov, a man full of guile. He, with an assistance of the famous crooks Trus, Balbes and Byvaly, abducts the beautiful Nina.

📎:
Как говориться
[kak ga-va-ri-tsa]
As (people/they) say

Точно!
[toch-na]
Exactly!/You're right!

🎧🗣👆 Listen, repeat, learn the catchphrase and watch the movie (check the attached button over there)👇!

🌝Всем отличного дня, товарищи!

Кушать 🆚️ Есть

Кушать
  [ku-shat']
=
Есть
  [yest']
To eat

1⃣However, 'кушать' is considered to be more colloquial (it sounds more gentle) and often refers to little kids, elderly or close people.

2⃣Whereas 'есть' can be used in any situation and sounds neutral or more official.

3⃣⚠️There is also a low colloquial variant of 'ecть':

Жрать
  [zhrat']

🔻There is also a funny phrase taken from a Soviet crime comedy 'Джентельмены удачи' (Gentlemen of Fortune) (1971) filmed at Mosfilm and directed by Aleksandr Sery:

Кушать подано! Садитесь жрать, пожалуйста! (Сlick to watch an episode)
[ku-shat' po-da-na, sa-di-tis' zhrat', pa-zha-lu-sta]
🇬🇧 The dinner is served! Sit down to chow/devour/eat, please!

▶️За столом (Revision)

🎧🗣👇Watch this comedy by all means!

Путешествие муравья
[pu-ti-shes-tvi-ye mu-ra-v'ya]

🔻The Journey of an Ant” is a Soviet hand-drawn animated film directed by Eduard Nazarov, who also wrote the script for this cartoon based on the fairy tale by Vitaly Bianki “How the Ant Hurried Home.”

🔻The cartoon was released by the Soyuzmultfilm studio in 1983.

The ant, who had climbed a birch tree, was carried away by the wind far from home. With a broken leg, he risked not making it back before sunset. Along the way, he saved a flea from an antlion, got a ride from various insects, but each time his journey was interrupted by unpleasant incidents. In the end, after a series of incredible events, including falling into a lake and biting a toad, the ant made it home, managing to squeeze into the last open entrance before sunset.

🔻This cartoon (Russian+Russian subtitles) is for A1+/A2 students and is definitely worth watching for everyone learning Russian!

📎 Let me know if you need a list of Russian words from this cartoon😉.
