😉Главное правило утра: не моргать, а то уснёшь.
[ glavnaye pravila ootra: ni margat' a to oosn'yosh ]
🇬🇧 The main rule in the morning: don’t blink, otherwise you’ll fall asleep.

Моргать (imperfective)
  [ margat' ]
🇬🇧 to blink

Моргнуть (perfective)
  [ margnut' ]
🇬🇧 to blink, wink

But here is some Russian grammar magic for you.

🔻If you add prefix про- to 'моргать', you will get a new meaning:

Проморгать (perfective)
  [ pramargat' ]
🇬🇧 to miss something

Не проморгай своё счастье!
[ ni pramargaj svayo schast'ye ]
🇬🇧 Don't miss your happiness!

🔻Аnd again...if you add ending -ся to 'проморгать', you'll get an old meaning of the verb again:

Проморгаться
   [ pramargatsya ]
🇬🇧 to regain clarity and distinctness of vision by blinking

🎧🗣👇 listen, practice and stay sane while learning Russian!

Балдеть (imperfective)
  [ bald'et' ]

Meaning:

2. To rest, do nothing

Сова балдеет, когда её гладят.
[ sava baldeyet, kagda yeyo glad'at ]
🇬🇧 The owl gets excited when you pet it.

❗️But prefix o- can completely change the meaning of the verb:

Обалдеть (perfective)
  [ abald'et' ]

Meaning:
To lose the ability to think, become stupefied, shocked

Я просто обалдел от этой новости!
[ ya prosta abaldel at etay novasti ]
🇬🇧 I was just shocked with this news!

👋Доброе утро, мои товарищи!

Подснежник (подснежники) masc.noun
 [pad-snezh-nik (pad-snezh-ni-ki)]
 SLT: Under the snow (flower)
 Snowdrop(s)

🔻From Old Greek γάλα — "молоко" (milk) and ἄνθος — "цветок" (flower).

🔻In 'подСНЕЖник' prefix ПОД- means 'under'. Like in:

[pad-za-tyl'-nik(i)]
Cuff on the nape

• подЖОПник(и) (from 'жопа' (buttoсks, butt), masc.noun) (low colloquial ⚠️)
[pad-zhop-nik(i)]
Kick-ass

🌝Доброе утро, товарищи!

Подвинуться (perfective, reflexive: the action is being performed by the subject upon oneself)
  [pad-vi-nu-tsa]
  To move aside/over

🔻This verb comes from:

Подвинуть (perfective)
  [pad-vi-nut']
  To move (something from one
   place to another)

🔻Prefix ПО- has several meanings (as almost everything in our great and mighty Russian 😅) but here it means to perform a small action, to move something but a bit.

💢 In spoken Russian you can also come across the following collocation:

• Извини - подвинься!
  [iz-vi-ni pad-vin'-sya]
  SLT: Sorry - move over!
  Oh, no, that won't do!
  Thanks but no thanks!

🔻It is used to express refusal, disagreement or objection:

• Ты хотел, чтобы я уступил тебе место? Ну, извини-подвинься! Я тоже устал.
🇬🇧 Did you want me to give you my seat? Well, no way! I'm tired too.

👋Доброе утро, товарищи!

1. Ругать (imperf.asp.)
[ru-gat']
To scold, criticize someone

2. Поругать (perf.asp.)
[pа-ru-gat']
To spend some time scolding
(mildly) someone.

🔻Prefix ПО- indicates an action limited in time.

4. Наругать (perf.asp.)
[na-ru-gat']
This form is grammatically incorrect, used in informal speech, particularly by children or uneducated people.

🔻The actions of these verbs are aimed at 1 object (ругать/поругать/отругать кого? whom?).

But:
• Ругаться (imper.asp.)
[ru-ga-tsa]
=
• Поругаться
(perf.asp.)
[pa-ru-ga-tsa]
To quarrel, argue

• Выругаться
(perf.asp.)
[vy-ru-ga-tsa]
To swear, rap out an oath
