[rus-ski-ye dol-gа za-pri-ga-yut no by-stra yez-dyat]
The Russians are slow starters but fast riders.

🔻It was Otto Eduard Leopold von Bismarck who said it first.

🔻However, Bismarck did not come up with the expression himself. He probably relied on the Russian proverb, widely known in the 19th century:

Нескоро запряг, да скоро приехал.
[ni-sko-ra za-pryak, da sko-ra pri-ye-khal]
It took (him) a long time to harness, but soon he arrived.

🔻This means that it usually takes Russians a long time to gather their strength or thoughts, they put off work until later and don’t get down to business until the last minute. But when they finally start, they do everything very quickly.

🔻This proverb reflects the Russian mentality. The Russian people are not hot-tempered, not excitable, but strong and efficient when necessary.

🔻One of the symbols of Moscow was first named 'All-Union radio and television broadcasting station named after the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution.'

🔻The tower got its name 'Ostankinskaya' (Ostankino is the district in Moscow where the tower is located) only in 1991.

🔻The construction of the 540-meter tower was completed in November 1967.

🔻There's a evolving restaurant and observation deck in Ostankinskaya Tower.

🔻The forty-five floors of the tower correspond to a typical building of one hundred and eighty floors.

🔻The elevators in Ostankino move at a speed of seven meters per second.

🔻Every year, up to 50 lightning strikes a building.

🔻The strength of the tower will allow it to maintain its integrity in wind gusts of up to 42.6 m/s.

    [pri-chom]
Why / what does it have
    to do with?

🔻The preposition with the interrogative pronoun ПРИ ЧЁМ is written separately.

🔻Also:
  [byt' ni pri chom]
To have nothing to do with

  [ya tut ni pri chom]
🇬🇧 It has nothing to do with me! (Not my fault)

🔢 Причём (conjuction)
    [pri-chom]
    Besides, in addition to,
    and, though

🔻The conjunction ПРИЧЁМ  is written together.

Еxample:
[ya pra-sil she-ka-lat, pri-chom mno-ga she-ka-la-da! pri chom tut di-na-zavr]
🇬🇧 I asked for chocolate, and a lot of it! What does this have to do with a dinosaur?
