🗣 Performance of iOS 12.4 Beta 7 / GM is more or less still the same as that of iOS 12.3.1 when it comes to launching apps, and overall smoothness. We are for sure still not seeing any of the performance improvements that was mentioned during the WWDC Keynote. Yes this is still a Beta and no we should not expect any launch speed improvements on non iOS 13 updated 3rd party, but you would think that Apple would let it loose on their own apps right? Does not look like it. We are still seeing on par launch speeds compared to that of iOS 12. 3. 1. I think that is quite disappointing, even for a Beta 2. Fearing that this could be the reality distortion field that strikes again. Lets see for future releases.

📱iOS & iPadOS 13 Beta 5 📺
Build - 17A5547d was released on 29 July, 2019 for:
• iPhone XR, XS/Max, X, 8/8+, 7/7+, SE, 6s/6s+
• iPad 6G, 5G
• iPad mini 5, 4
• iPad Air 3, 2
• iPad Pro 12.9(3G), 10.5, 9.7, 11, 12.9(2G), 12.9(1G)
• iPod Touch 7G.
New Features & Changes:
• Ability to change icon size on iPad under display and brightness settings. Note that larger icon setting will hide pinned widgets
• Volume control is more granular
• “3D Touch” like “long press then slide to select menu options” is gone in iPadOS
• Shortcuts will be automatically upgraded to iOS 13 version starting from this beta. For anyone with iOS 12 device, do not turn on iCloud sync if you are still running iOS 13 beta 4
• New Home App wallpapers
• Haptic feedback when you max out and silence volume using volume buttons (Not for ringer volume. Just normal volume)
• Shortcut Automation feature is removed in this beta
• Screenshots of apps linked against iOS 13 SDK black out a screen’s rounded corners. (bug?)
New Issues:
• When tapping Sandbox account under Settings app, iTunes & App Store, settings app will crash
• Long press sometimes does not show any preview in Safari (at least under iPadOS)
• When using pointing devices, it is not possible anymore to drag apps into multitasking from folders (worked in earlier betas, still works when using fingers)
• Safari download manager may fail to download files, stuck at random percentage and eventually display a “retry” icon. Tapping it usually won’t let download finish
• iPad may experience high battery drain (with Keyboard Folio connected) even when idle
• Volume limit may be not honoured when using AirPods or Powerbeats Pro
• Context menu in Safari may fail to open after using Safari for a while. Restart safari only temporarily fix the issue.
Remaining Issues:
• There is still no 3D Touch actions on share sheet, for example on music app
• When type in Safari, pressing “return” doesn’t always create a new line and first letter doesn’t always capitalise. Usually it takes two tries and capitalisation alternate between each return
• Custom lyrics are still “spinning forever”
• iPhone files app is still unusable. Cannot unzip archives and cannot open files in another app
• Playlist artwork still shuffles randomly and never match the right artwork after using music app for a while. This happens mainly on iTunes synced playlist
• iPad files app still cannot properly copy/paste files between USB drives and iPad.
Resolved Issues:
• “Open in new tab” in safari is now properly displayed when haptic Touch a link
• iPad now properly join wifi when wifi is turned back on through control Center later
• Apps that need access to Media & Apple Music can now properly request access.
