Yuen Long District Councilor to Run in Pro-democracy Camp's Primary

On June 19, Ng Kin-wai, Yuen Long district councilor and member of Tin Shui Wai Connects announced plan to join the Pro-democracy Camp's primary for the Legislative Council election in September. The primaries will be held in July.

On the same list with Ng is Lam Chun, who is currently charged with riotting. Ng has just sold his flat to fund their election campaign. It was a day before the news about the Security Law legislation came out.

Ng said this means Hongkongers cannot back down anymore and should give it all out in this fight, "If our generation refuses to act, the next generation will suffer. As long as we are determined to fight against Communist China, Hong Kong will definitely restitute on one day."

Police Cordon Off Prince Edward Subway Station to Intercept Civilians, District Councillor and Reporter

23:27 | Prince Edward

Outside Exit B of Prince Edward Station, police set up cordon to forbid civilians from going close to the station and laying flowers to pay tribute to the victims of police brutality in Hong Kong.

It was sighted that district councillor Ng Kin-wai of Tin Shui Wai Connection and a HK01 reporter were being pulled into the police cordon line for reasons unknown.

They were both released without being charged by the police.

Ng later told the media at the scene that he was alone on his own and it was technically impossible for the police to ticket him for violating the gathering ban.

Braving police presence, District Councilor calls on citizens to remember truth of #YuenLong721 incident

19:30 | Yuen Long

Months after another, defiant Hongkongers came voluntarily to Yuen Long Station to pay tribute to victims of #YuenLong721 incident and of police brutality.

19 months later, only 47 of over 100 rod-wielding gangsters were arrested. Among them only 8 were prosecuted. Expressing his utter disappointment at the Government's surging oppression in Hong Kong, pro-democracy district councilor Ng Kin-wai was seen commemorating at Yuen Long station on his own on the evening of 21 February 2021.

Understanding towards citizen’s fear of being arrested and violating the #NationalSecurityLaw, Ng called on citizens to remember youngsters being arrested, police brutality that the government deliberately conceals and never surrender to injustice.

High Court hears govt's challenge to activists' bail

The HK High Court held two separate hearings for former Democratic Party lawmaker #HelenaWong, and Yuen Long district councillor #NgKinWai on March 11, for the prosecutors' challenge to a lower court’s decision to grant bail to 11 pro-democracy activists.

The two are among the #47Democrats charged under the national security law for taking part in last year's primary election.

Dozens of people lined up to attend the bail hearing; some came as early as 1 am. There was a heavy police presence around the court building.

Sighted on the scene was Granny Wong who made a long trip to show her respect. Shortly afterwards, several police officers arrived and asked her leave.

Lam Chun, a member of #TSWConnect and fellow supporters of Ng Kin-wai, were also seen outside the court.
