And yet they still went on.

This is the same cry in the wearying darkness. Despite the deepening menace, the protestors still chanted, loud and unafraid, calling forth the Golden Sun to purge away the looming gloom, upon the waxing Moon to light their path. "Liberate Hong Kong, Revolution of our times!"

3 more police cars arrived for reinforcement at Mong Kok Police Station as the station continued to broadcast, “the Police has shown you good will, persuaded and allowed time for you to leave Prince Edward West and the Nathan Road area.” “Hey! If you are producing too much noise, you are clamouring and you might risk contravening an offence. I'm not kidding.” “You won't know when we might dash out and arrest you for illegal assembly, using the minimum force required of course.” “You are allowed to occupy the road, but that doesn’t mean you can block these roads.”

Bystanders replied, “we are standing on the pavement, not on the road. How can we block the road?” “Shut up officers, learn how to do your job and follow the Police General Ordnance carefully.”

Staff Members were Required to Sign "Consent Letter" Regarding Possible Risk when Resuming Work; PolyU: Not a Liability Waiver

The Polytechnic University (PolyU) was under police siege last month. The northern part of the campus was reopened today (31 Dec), allowing teaching staff and post-graduates to resume work. The University issued a letter the day before yesterday (29 Dec), stating that the northern part of the Campus was basically safe after thorough assessment. Staff members and post graduates could resume work on their own discretion. However, they must notify the school authority by email or sign a letter of consent when entering the campus, to indicate that they were fully aware of possible risks.

Mr Wan, the University’s maintenance staff has resumed work since the beginning of December. Wan said he was not asked to sign such document. He further described such document as a “liability waiver” and criticized the University of being irresponsible. He said should the staff members were forced to sign the letter; nobody would be willing to return to the campus and resume work.
