Evacuation of non Hong Kong students 1/3: More Scuffles to be Expected in the City?

There is reliable intelligence that Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) students from China have received notifications earlier that they needed to leave Hong Kong and evacuate to Shenzhen for a few days before 4pm today (Nov 14).

The screenshot in the thread shows the message written in simplified Chinese they received:

3:30PM @All
"If you want to leave, don't bring any luggage. Bring some important carry-on.
Don't gather in groups. Just 3 to 5 people. Can go from either hall 11 or the footbridge, all the way through ac1 downward. Rendezvous at Heung To Middle School.
Take a ride to Shenzhen.
The Liaison Office's idea is to evacuate all those who can leave. Everyone watches out for safety.
Those who want to go with the Liaison Office, sign up with me through private messages. Upon receving the message, the quota will reduce by one. The kids who have already left will also be reduced. I need to make sure every kid gets it. The moms who go back will also send private messages to ask your situation.
Everyone, don't panic. Keep calm. The country will ensure our safety."

The Wuhan Coronavirus continues to spread around the globe. Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in the press conference on 01 March, that if the situation worsens overseas, the country will adopt all necessary measures to actively assist overseas Chinese in their return to China.

According to reports from various media outlets, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Cui Aimin stated today during the press conference of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council, that the Chinese government will pay close attention to the health and safety of overseas Chinese citizens and students studying abroad in countries with high infection rates, such as South Korea, Japan and Italy. The government also urged those countries to attend to and help resolve problems faced by these Chinese nationals within their borders.

Cui pointed out that since these countries have not yet placed restrictions on international travels, overseas Chinese can still choose to return to China via air travel. If the epidemic continues to threaten these countries to an extent where the health of overseas Chinese is severely endangered, the PRC government shall make their best efforts to aid their return.

Residents from Tai Po's Tai Heng House to Evacuate; Microbiologist Suspects Sewage as a Source

On March 14, residents of at least a dozen apartments decided to evacuate from Tai Heng House in Taipo, after at least 3 people living in the same building had contracted Wuhan pneumonia.

After inspecting the building, microbiologist Professor Yuen Kwok-yung of the University of Hong Kong said it’s possible that the tiny droplets with the virus were carried by the air from the sewage of the family living on the 32nd floor. It may have gone up through venting pipe to the rooftop and led to the infection of the resident living on the topmost floor of the building.

Canada ready for large-scale evacuation of citizens in Hong Kong if needed

Canada’s top diplomate in Hong Kong says Ottawa has drawn up exhaustive plans for a mass evacuation of 300,000 Canadian citizens from Hong Kong if necessary, but added he can’t help local activists seeking for asylum at the consulate.

The House of Commons Special committee on Canada-China relations, Jeff Nankivell said that refugees could always make a claim in third countries. But, he acknowledged, the territory’s exit control could thwart some Hongkongers’ effort to leave.
