Police Hide in Public Toilet
Assistant police commissioner Rupert Dover and his wife have allegedly been running an 1100 sq ft unit in Pik Shui Sun Tsuen as a guesthouse without a license. The ads, targetting foreigners on a Facebook page, offered periods of stay from 2 night to a month, which can result in an income as high as HKD310,000.
The couple can be considered breaking the property rules and operating unlicensed guesthouse. The police force has yet made any comments. Legco member suggested that ICAC's intervention might be necessary if more violations are found.
According to Next Magazine, Dover initially refused to make any comments on the questhouse, and walked around the village trying to get away from the reporter. After about 5 minutes, Dover dashed into the public toilet and came back out wearing a face mask and said the license belongs to his wife's family. When the reporter posed further questions, Dover ran away and releatedly yelled "Leave me alone!"
