A 12-year old girl, on her way to shop for pastel chalk on Sunday, September 6, 2020, was body-slammed head-on by the riot police, who knocked her off her feet. Three more riot police piled on top of her as she was forcefully pinned to the ground in between one of the officer’s legs, causing multiple injuries on her body.
This left the city enraged and the girl traumatised.
The mother of the girl, Mrs Ho, told Apple Daily that her daughter refused to talk about the incident nor watch any relevant video footage. She is worried that her daughter might be suffering from psychological trauma and might need help from a psychologist.
Several orthopedic surgeons, who refused to be identified, commented that the police’s violent enforcement, targeting a young girl, had a good chance of breaking the girl’s ribs and lumbar spine bones. They added, “The girl was very lucky to have gotten away with just abrasions."

At 7pm on Feb 1, 2021, the Hong Kong Government imposed a sudden lockdown in fours districts, including Tsim Sha Tsui, a popular shopping area frequented by many locals.
A mother took her 10-year-old daughter for a haircut in Tsim Sha Tsui. She went for a quick grocery shopping, when her daughter was in the hair salon.
When the mother went back to pick up her daughter, the salon has been cordoned off by the authorities as a restricted area for mandatory #COVID19 testing.
Unable to reach her daughter, the mother waited in avail for hours outside the lockdown zone,
The authorities suggested renting a motel room for her 10-year-old daughter to stay alone overnight until the end of the government's operation at 7am the next day.
In frustration, the mother questioned, “will you yourself consider sleeping over in a motel in Tsim Sha Tsui?”
Showing her extreme disappointment, she described the options provided by the government as “useless.”
At around 22:30, the mother was told that her daughter would be released after being tested. The government staff stressed that it was a "discretionary" arrangement.

A 42-year-old former policeman allegedly demanded his ex-wife to see him within 30 minutes, otherwise he would kill their 8-year-old daughter.
Over the phone, the wife could hear her daughter crying and begging the father: "Daddy, please don't. Daddy, please don't. I don't want to use the knife."
The daughter testified in court, and recounted that the man asked her if she wanted to "go with him", which she understood to mean dying. She answered yes at the time, though she didn't want to die.
Later on, when police arrived at the scene, they caught the man attempting to strangle his daughter with a leather belt around her neck and threatening her with a knife.
The man appeared in court on April 21 and pleaded guilty to criminal intimidation and child abuse. He is remanded until his sentencing on May 11.
