Student S: “The police always claim that there are no arrestees voicing their sexual abuse and harassment cases, but I am here to tell you all about my experience"

Student S was among the 7 wounded arrestees in the Prince Edward Station on 31 August.

Student S recalled how a police officer in plain clothes slapped her breasts when he cuffed her with a zip tie in Kwai Chung Police Station on 1 September. A policewoman was also present at that point of time. On the same day in the 'stinking cell' where there was nothing covering the toilet area, two policewomen looked at her genitals frontally and observed her urinating, with other policemen only seven steps away and a surveillance camera installed right outside.

Later on the same day, she was transported from the “stinking cell” in the Police Station to San Uk Ling Detention Centre. Student S expressed her gratitude to social worker Chan Sau-hung who was among the arrestees being moved. Chan consoled them when they arrived at the holding center, telling them “don't be afraid, arrestees have the rights to ask for water.”
