Student: Guy Fawkes Mask Symbolizes resistance against the oppressors and unconditional support to protestors

November 5 marked one month since the establishment of anti-mask law. At Ying Wah College, some students organised a sit-in protest outside of the school front door with Guy Fawkes masks on. Students from neighbouring schools also participated in the protest.

Wong, student representative of the Ying Wah College Anti-ELAB Student Concern Group said, the Guy Fawkes mask is not a simple mask just for fun, it also contains the meaning of resistance against the oppressor and unconditional support to protestors. Wong hopes they can let others be aware that a good number of students are still very concerned about the anti-ELab protests; and the students are going to keep resisting the unfair laws set up by the government.

"V for Vendetta": Flashmob Protest to Defy the Mask Ban

One month after the anti-mask law took effect with the use of the Emergency Regulations Ordinance, netizens organised a "Million Mask March" to defy the law. Location of the march was only announced to be at the Urban Council Centenary Garden at Tsim Sha Tsui in the evening of November 5.

Protestors gathered around Cameron Road and blocked Nathan Road. After the march, protestors encountered the police water cannon when they tried to leave via Jordan. Most protestors then left via PolyU, a number of them were arrested.
