[China's Cultural Genocide and Sinicization: Uyghurs and Tibet - Part 2 out of 2]

Tibetians forced to worship Xi Jinping and Mao Zedong

It was reported that in December 2018 that tibetians were forced to “clean up” images of the Dalai Lama in their homes, Buddhist temples and monasteries and replace them with portraits of Xi Jinping and Mao Zedong.

As the pressure increases, PRC threatens to cut off some families’ subsidies if they don’t comply. In certain areas, officials even go house to house to check that the photos of Xi and Mao are on the altar.

Religious persecution in China part 1/3

“A Taoist disciple joins the order without knowing when he will be admitted to priesthood. Dozens of Christians are barred from celebrating Christmas together. Tibetan monks are forced to learn reinterpretations of Buddhist doctrine during a “patriotic reeducation” session. A Uighur Muslim farmer is sentenced to nine years in prison for praying in a field. And a 45-year-old father in northeastern China dies in custody days after being detained for practicing Falun Gong.”

“Under Xi Jinping’s leadership, religious persecution in China has increased overall. “

Combining both violent and nonviolent methods, the CCP’s policies are designed to curb the rapid growth of religious communities and eliminate certain beliefs and practices, while also harnessing aspects of religion that could serve the regime’s political and economic interests.

Religious persecution in China part 2/3

Sinicization” Campaign

On January 26, under the command of officials from the Religious Affairs Bureau of central China’s Yiyang county in Henan Province’s Luoyang city, a Three-Self church in Fuchang village was transformed: The original Western-style steeple and cross were dismantled, and the building converted into a “Chinese-style private house.”

Previously, the county government had issued a document demanding that existing registered religious venues be revamped; the document outlined that these venues can’t “crave things big and foreign” or imitate Gothic or Romanesque architecture – they must embody Chinese aesthetics only.

“The government may also occupy the church and repurpose it. In an attempt to save the church, believers bought and placed 20 sewing machines in the church to make it look like a clothing factory.”

Mosques throughout China are also “sinicized,” like the one over in Shanxi Province, whose Arabic style was forcibly altered.

“No matter how I look at it, I still can’t get used to it. It doesn’t have the original mosque flavor any longer,” a local imam said.

In China’s northern Handan city, in Hebei Province, crescent-moon symbols and onion domes have also been dismantled from the tops of mosques in several counties with concentrated populations of ethnic Huis, such as Daming county and Qiu county.

The “sinicization” of buildings has not been limited to religious venues. The government spent more than 20 million RMB (about $2.86 million) to alter Suzhou’s “Tower Shadow Bridge,” making it “more Chinese.” The officials’ alleged reason for the bridge’s alterations: safety.

Religious persecution in China part 3/3

10th April: the Light Valley Church in Wuhan, Hubei was accused for holding illegal religious events by the religious affairs office in Hung Shan District. The officer then notified the landlord of the church area and requested to stop letting the place to the church. The Light Valley Church replied, “finally, it is our turn.” On 21st April the day for Easters celebration, they held their final ritual. There were 10 new members joining the church conference.

15th April: a family church in Zhejiang was forced to be demolished. According to some news, the related officials requested the church to join “Three-self patriotic movement” and only by doing so, the church could stay. “Three-self patriotic movement” refers to Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Churches in China, it refers to the Chinese Christian Church, which is politically obeyed the political leadership of the Chinese government and the Chinese Communist Party, and should be free from management and intervention from foreign churches, "autonomy, self-maintenance and self-preach."

As reported by the Christian Times, churches and crosses in Shandong, Hubei and inner Mongolia had been demolished. In the early morning on 12th April, a Catholic church located in Xianto, Hubei was dismantled; On 16th April, the cross of a Catholic praying place located in Xinzhou, Hubei was taken down; On the day of Easter 21st April, the cross of a Christian church in Shandong was taken down as well.

According to the Ucan News, on 14th Arpil, after Father Jiang finished holing a mass, he was stopped and taken away by some plainclothes government officials. There have been 2 other clergies being arrested by the government in late March.

A presbyter in Henan reported on 11th April that local government was recruiting 1 person from each village to monitor the church and report to the government if there were any children entering churches. Each person gets paid 300 RMB monthly. The local farmers who are in poverty could receive 60 RMB monthly subsidy per person.

After the execution of the amended Regulations on Religious Affairs in February, 2018, news about family churches in China being demolished has been reported continuously. The government prohibits children under the age of 18 and party members from participating church gatherings. Many believers and followers of various religious sects and churches had started petitions to support the mainland churches last year.

The Uighurs who successfully escaped from Xinjiang alleged that they were abused during the "education" process. Some people were not able to operate normally after being given poison injections. They only wanted to eat all day and only had food in their heads.

The government issued a $10,000 yuan bonus to encourage female Uighurs to marry the Han.

During the period from 2017 to 2018, as seen in the satellite photos, many education camps have expanded more than twice, and it is believed that Uighurs will soon be forcibly ending in cultural genocide.

By the same means, Hong Kong’s demonstrations may become a CCP’s suppression of excuses

Looking back at Hong Kong, the population, language, culture, and economy have all been slowly encroached. The Extradition Law in recent months are likely to be the beginning of repression.

The current society is in a state of severe division, and the people, the government, the police, and so on... will even deteriorate rapidly. Do you think the government can solve everything by responding to people's demands?

Impossible!

No matter the people won or lost, they will no longer believe in the police and the government. A lot of conspiracy theories will appear no matter what policies are implemented by the government.

Just like watching the movie "Infernal Affairs", people always feel that there is undercover in the police; After reading "Young and Dangerous", people feel that the traids are a good persons.

In contrast, if the police win and they will hate the people. If they lost, they will hate the government.

The winner will start eradication. The loser will hate it.
People who don't want to be eradicated, and enjoy the benefits of victory, are those claimed themselves as neutral.

Therefore, you often hear the words of the neutralists condemning both sides indiscriminately, but they can't give a good plan. The most important thing is wash one’s hands of this matter, and being wide awake when everyone elaborating is drunk.

[CCP’s Mind Control Tactics 1/3]

Former Secretary of Education and current Executive Council Member Arthur Li Kwong-cheung said that there is problem with the implementation of Liberal Studies (LS). As one of the persons in-charge of the implementation, Li believes it is necessary to improve the quality of teachers, and to send the textbooks off for review.

Li responded to the media "I believe nothing is wrong with LS itself, it has no problems, really. The issue is with the execution. The quality of teachers depends upon their training. The inconvenient truth is, the best students choose to study subjects such as law and medicine rather than education. The issue now is how can we attract the best students to study education and become teachers?"

Hong Kong Police Don Chinese Flag

The global assembly organised by the Hong Kong Civil Assembly Team called for the world to boycott Communist China for its suppression of human rights. The peaceful assembly was turned into a clash between the police and the public, after the police suddenly charged in the crowd.

Policemen stopped and searched civilians in multiple areas. Opposite to the Times Square at Russell Street, two women dressed in black were searched, and were asked to face the wall. A policeman had a PRC flag stuck on his uniform.

#Poll: 64% Respondents Consider #HKU's Appointment of Mainland Professors as Vice-Presidents as Against Principle of Fairness

The governing council of the University of Hong Kong (#HKU) appointed two professors from mainland China, Max Shen Zuojan and Gong Peng, as vice-presidents. Shen is suspected to be a Communist Party member but the council clarified that the allegations are found to be unsubstantiated.

The Hong Kong Public Opinion Research Institute (#PORI) has interviewed 5,767 Hong Kong citizens in November 2020. The survey asked the question: 'The University of Hong Kong recently appointed two scholars from Tsinghua University, Max Shen and Peng Gong, as Vice-Presidents. How much do you consider the appointment to comply with, or not comply with, the principle of fairness?'.

89% of the pro-democracy respondents said the appointment did not comply with the principle of fairness. A total of 64% of respondents, pro-democracy or otherwise, considered the appointment 'not quite comply', ' very much not comply' and 'entirely not comply' with the principle.

Dr. Chan King-ming, associate professor at the School of Life Sciences of Chinese University of Hong Kong (#CUHK) and the former chairman of the Teacher's Association of CUHK, said that this appointment clearly shows the mainlandization and Sinicization of HKU.

Chan added that when he was the union chief a few years ago, a number of his colleagues at CUHK complained the use of Mandarin during meetings, 'it is now mainlandization, not globalization.'

Chan mentioned that since many mainland Chinese scholars had returned to China from the US, Hong Kong had become one of their preferred destinations. He worried that these scholars are being intentionally installed in different universities and organizations in Hong Kong. He added that HKU's appointment this time was related to the earlier change in the governance structure, such as the direct interventions occurring in the governing council and the Court. Such things had actually happened 15 years ago at the university.'

Chan also criticized that this appointment had already posed threats to academic freedom and institutional autonomy, and noted that the issue of resource allocation was involved here as a number of scholars had been invited to work in mainland China, especially the Greater Bay Area.

Regarding the National Security Law, Chan remarked that chilling effect had already been brought by the reporting hotline set up by the Police's National Security Department, and 'Cultural Revolution 2.0' had come. Some students had begun self-censoring as they changed the names of their online accounts.

Hong Kong Government Requires All Schools to Hold Weekly Flag-Raising Ceremonies and Sing Chinese Anthem

The Hong Kong government's #EducationBureau on October 11, 2021 announced that all schools in Hong Kong must hold flag-raising ceremonies every week and on special occasions starting January 1, 2022.

The government's guidelines stated that the Chinese national anthem should be played and sung at the ceremonies.

Moreover, the Chinese national flag should be raised in school every day. If there are enough flagpoles, then the Hong Kong SAR flag should also be raised.

The government also "advised" kindergartens to carry out the instructions if facility allows, while international schools and private schools were "encouraged" to follow the guidelines.
