HK Police Demonstrate Polar Definition of "Dangerous Driving"

On Sept 12, 2020 in Sham Shui Po, a street cleaning vehicle crashed into a bus, injuring 24 bus passengers. Police arrested the 64-year-old driver for "dangerous driving".

A week ago on Sept 6, police arrested a bus driver who was driving at a speed of 35km/h and reportedly honked his horn during police's occupation of the road. Police also charged him of "dangerous driving", although the charge was later changed to "possession of offensive weapon" (for carrying a spanner) and lately "careless driving".

St. Paul’s Convent School Includes “National Security Law” in 5-hour Ethics Studies Class; Students Worries It to Be Channel for Propaganda

After enacting the National Security Law, Chief Executive Carrie Lam and Secretary of Education Bureau Yeung Yun-hung have stated clearly to launch NSL education in schools. Stand News stated that St. Paul’s Convent School, a school under the direct subsidy scheme in Causeway Bay have scheduled 4 lessons for the NSL under Ethnic Studies for F5 and F6 students in the new school term for this year. NSL classes are scheduled to be in March next year tentatively. Details of this course is scarce at the moment. Some students revealed that the school has always emphasised “not bringing politics back to the campus”, when they have taken the lead to introduce NSL in the course. Students worry it will be a channel to deliver political messages favourable to the government.

Stand News has sent an inquiry to St. Paul Convert School about reasons for adding the “NSL” topic into Ethnic Studies and content of studying materials. The school haven’t replied as of press time.

St. Paul Convert School is a traditional elite girl school. Alumni include Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Edwina Lau Chi Wai and Barrister Margret Ng Anglo-yee. During the anti-ELAB movement last year, the school suppressed a student’s strike, which included barring the wearing of white ribbons and masks, and forcing students to throw away all anti-ELAB movement and student’s strike-related leaflets before coming back to the campus. At that moment, the school described a student’s strike as “intensifying the tension in the society”. Many alumni were discontented with the decision, causing more than a hundred alumni and students stood silently outside the campus for protest.

HK Police Force is “fabricating and distorting history” : Media

Apple Daily called HK Police “the author of Hong Kong's unofficial history” as the Force has been found for incessantly downplaying their wrong doings with biased descriptions and excuses.

Read following 3 incidents, most recently happened.

On Aug 31, 2020, Hong Kong police choked, pepper sprayed and pushed a pregnant woman on the ground during an operation.

Although the Force had released a statement claiming their concern for the woman, a newer modified statement was issued on September 12, responding to the public criticism of the police's excessive use of force.

In the latest statement, the violent incident of several police officers forcefully separating the 8-month pregnant woman from her husband, being pepper sprayed in close-range and pushed to the ground was diluted into a sentence with only 7 words, “A couple had fallen to the ground” ( 兩名男女曾跌倒).

On September 6, 2020, a 12-year-old girl was on her way to a stationary shop but ended up being body slammed and subdued between the legs of several riot policemen.

The Force insisted that the 12-year-old had looked "suspicious", and their use of force was “based on enforcement responsibility” (基於執法責任) .

Assistant professor from mainland China picked offerings for dishes and soup, criticising students for calling themselves "Hongkongers" and "forgetting their ancestors".

According to students of the Government and Public Department in CUHK, Li Wei, an assistant professor from China, shared photos of offerings on the road to Facebook group on 4 Sept, and criticised people wasting food as they did not collect their food back after worship. On 6 Sep, she shared another photo of soup and 3 dishes made from those offerings collected from the road. She revealed stealing peanuts, bean curd and oranges for cooking, stating those food was "simple and delicious". Students of that department were shocked.

Li also replied a post about street booth against National Security Law in the Government and Public Department Facebook group, which was published on 6 Jun. In her reply, she questioned if there was any meaning to protest against “National Security Law” if it has been enacted already and derided students "doing something useless, wasting their time and shortening their lives" to sleep on the street and shouting slogans. She suggested students “observing and doing some researches.” Her speech has caused a dispute with students.

Moreover, Li Wei continued to criticised students, “Calling yourselves Hongkongers all the time and forget who your ancestor is. If you don’t support the Chinese Community Party (CCP), then run a better party in Hong Kong.”

Chinese Government Lists "Homosexuality" and "Anal Sex" as "Unhealthy Sexual Behaviour" in Epidemiology Textbook

In a Chinese textbook of Epidemiology issued by the Chinese Communist Party government, under the definition of "unhealthy sexual behaviour", homosexuality was listed alongside "multiple sex partners" and "early exposure to sex".

In another version of the textbook, under the same category "unhealthy sexual behavior", "anal sex" replaces "homosexuality".

In sum, the Chinese state approved textbook has raised concern over the CCP's discrimination and misrepresentation of the GRSM groups.
