Out of control local governments across China grabbing medical supplies from armoured vehicles 2/5

On 6 February, a "robbery notice" popped up on the internet. The notice dated 1 February was issued by #Dali city to #Cixi city of #Zhejiang Province stating that given the grave epidemic situation in Dali and shortage of supplies, the 598 boxes of surgical masks destined for Cixi were thus detained. The notice was officially sealed on the lower right corner, evident of an official document. On the same day, Cixi immediately sent a negotiation letter to Dali requesting the return of the 112,000 masks as soon as possible. The letter also stated that the consignment had full documentation, including courier number. This letter was also officially sealed by the Cixi government on the lower right corner.

Experts Worried About China’s Intelligence Network as The UN Global Data Centre in Zhejiang

The US government severely discourage Chinese mobile applications and cloud service providers in recent years, stopping the Chinese government from getting sensitive data. However, the United Nations Secretariat cooperated with China recently, established a global data centre in Deqing County, Zhejiang Province, and the “geospatial centre” that uses satellite surveillance technology to process data from various UN member states. The United Nations officials who signed the Data Centre protocol are also from China. Experts worried that the data centre would become China’s global intelligence network.

A former reporter of The Wall Street Journal and a researcher at the Hudson Institute, Claudia Rosett disclosed the data centre location in Deqing County, Zhejiang Province last week. She criticized the plan was that China uses the name of the United Nations, to strengthen the scope of surveillance.
