Just because the political bureau called for integrating traditional Chinese medicine as part of the ācuringā option of the coronavirus has caused bureaucracy and administrative units all the way down to lower level of governments to take bizarre extreme measures by forcing students and teachers to take āstandardised' pre-prescript Chinese medicine as a condition to get back to schools. Some of the lower level bureaucratic units go as far as pre-designated where and what to buy for āpreventionā of the virus.
Summary: On the first day of Chinese New Year (25 Jan), CCP Political Bureau conducted a meeting. New China News Agency reported that the Political Bureau considered it was necessary to combine Western and Chinese medication in order to āimproveā the treatment of diseases. On the 12 Feb, the Office of the National Health Committee and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine jointly issued a notice requiring all public health departments and traditional Chinese medicine administration departments of lower levels of governments to place traditional Chinese medicine in more focal roles in combating the virus.

The WHO guideline for coronavirus prevention measures, do not take traditional herbal remedies, went missing in the Chinese version.
Editorās Note: Perhaps WHO didnāt want to upset China, as Beijing has been promoting Chinese medicine as a possible solution to coronavirus. According to Chinese health officials, coronavirus patients who are treated with both Chinese and Western medicine have a higher recovery rate. This is, however, not scientifically proven. There is no cure to coronavirus currently.
After the removal of this prevention measure, Tedros Adhanom (Director general of WHO), thanked China for donating US$20 million to WHO. Chinese netizens accused WHO for bowing down to China and putting the lives of Chinese citizens at risk.

(13 Mar) Online news circulated in mainland China of Dr Zhong Nanshan's dismissal from leading the national task force combatting the Wuhan pneumonia. The official reason for his dismissal is unknown. There is online speculation that Zhong resisted Chinese President Xi Jinping's mandate to use "Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to combat the epidemic" and that he stubbornly adhered to Western medicine principles. This led to dissatisfaction within the Chinese medicine industry and complaints to President Xi.
//Zhong had previously spared no efforts to serve his country, declaring "the virus' discovery in China did not necessitate its origin in China". Deliberately left blank, Chinese netizens understood the declaration as "the virus is a biological weapon from an American lab". After completing this mission of foreign declaration for China, Zhong retired. In fact, because of the paranoia triggered, the US government felt slandered. He is no longer able to apply for an American visitor visa, a huge sacrifice on his part.//
