The Parliament of the Republic of Cyprus has approved a bill to establish the Ministry of Migration. This move has been hailed as "significant for the country" by the head of the Ministry of Interior, Konstantinos Ioannou.

🔍📋 The Ministry of Interior will retain issuing IDs and passports to citizens, as well as managing legislation regarding marriage and civil unions.

🌟🌐 The new ministry will oversee migration policies: issuance of residence permits, citizenship naturalization, status of political refugees, and humanitarian status.

👨‍💼💼 Soon, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, will appoint the first Minister of Migration, who will begin forming the structure and team of the new department.
