🇮🇹 Additional update on Mount Etna eruption, Sicily

🌋 We previously reported on the eruption of Mount Etna that began on June 2, 2025, on the Italian island of Sicily. The event was marked by large plumes of ash and smoke, as well as lava and pyroclastic flows.

⚠️ It has now been revealed that the Sentinel-2 satellite, part of the Copernicus program, captured the eruption just minutes after it began. The newly released satellite images clearly show the powerful plumes and the spread of volcanic material down the slopes.

‼️Etna remains the most active volcano in Europe. Although its eruptions are frequent, they rarely pose a serious threat to local residents. Thanks to modern technology like satellite monitoring , scientists can now track such natural phenomena in near real-time.
