🌍 Atlantic Hurricane Season 2025 Forecast

🌀 The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) forecasts 13 to 19 named tropical storms this year. Of these, 6 to 10 could become hurricanes, and 3 to 5 may reach major hurricane strength (Category 3 or higher).

📊 Typically, the Atlantic hurricane season has two peaks of activity: early to mid-September and mid-October. An increase in activity usually begins after a temporary lull in early to mid-August.

📈 Particular concern arises from sea surface temperatures: the North Atlantic Basin, the Caribbean, and the Gulf of Mexico are experiencing abnormally high values. In the Caribbean Sea, especially around the Bahamas and the Gulf, temperatures have reached 30–32 °C. This creates highly dangerous conditions, as tropical storms entering these warm waters may intensify significantly during the peak of the hurricane season in September and October.

⚠️ Such marine heatwaves have become not only more frequent but also more prolonged and widespread, reflecting the overall trend of global ocean and climate overheating.
