KCD2 is doing great: 1M copies sold on the first day!
It seems that KCD II has the budget of around $41m, which is exceptionally small by modern standards.

This number already paid off. And it was achieved by using labor from Eastern Europe, Cyprus, and some other cheaper areas. For example, Owlcat Games (Pathfinder, Rogue Trader) provided a strong team of developers for the game.

Meanwhile the game just surpassed 226 000 concurrent players on Steam.

So maybe (just maybe) the failure of The Veilguard wasn't about races, genders, and definitely not due to lack of multiplayer πŸ˜‚

Yes, I'm sure, millions are playing via XBox subscription (no), but keep in mind that even The Veilguard managed to reach 5+ times more players.

To place the release of Avowed into perspective, here are some other release numbers (some are outdated and even greater now).

15 600 players is nothing β€” lower than Pathfinder games, lower than Rogue Trader. Despite those games are kinda niche.
