Urban Development at the Core of Maharashtra’s Growth!

Chaired 'Workshop of Municipal Corporation Commissioners and Municipal Council Chief Officers' at Yashada, Pune.

Urban development is being prioritised as a growth engine by both Central and State Governments. Over the past 10 years, significant investments have been made towards urbanisation. To improve urban living and solve citizens’ issues, State Government will support local self-governing bodies that implement effective schemes.

Maharashtra, with 60 million people living across 450 cities, is the second most urbanised State in India. Beautifying and upgrading cities can improve the quality of life for nearly 50% of the population.

Key focus areas include strengthening primary healthcare services, providing quality education in municipal schools for underprivileged children, timely completion of water supply and sewage projects, establishing efficient water distribution systems with metering. The Government will support such public welfare initiatives.

New ideas and approaches are essential for service delivery. Urban bodies must explore new funding sources and improve tax collection. Economic progress will encourage citizens to pay taxes, and private sector funding can also be attracted for good projects. Cities must be planned sustainably for long-term development, including well-designed roads for beautification.

Under the 100-day program, all municipal corporations and councils performed well. A new 150-day plan will now focus on e-governance and human resource development. Administrative efficiency must be strengthened through reforms and technologies.

Timely utilisation of Central and State funds is crucial to boost development. Full integration of digital systems is also important. With technology and various initiatives, the 'Viksit Maharashtra 2047' plan can be shaped effectively, and public suggestions will be valuable.

DCM Eknath Shinde ji, MoS Madhuritai Misal, Municipal Corporation Commissioners, Additional Municipal Corporation Commissioners, Chief Officers of Municipal Councils across the State and other dignitaries were present.

100 दिवसांच्या कार्यालयीन सुधारणा कार्यक्रमाअंतर्गत वेबसाईट सुधारणा, कार्यालयीन सोईसुविधा, स्वच्छता, तक्रार निवारण, सुलभ जीवनमान, गुंतवणुकीस चालना, तंत्रज्ञानाचा वापर इत्यादी 10 मुद्यांवर सर्व शासकीय कार्यालयांमध्ये स्पर्धा होती.
या कार्यक्रमात शासनाच्या सर्व 95 महामंडळांनी सहभाग घेऊन अभूतपूर्व कामगिरी केल्याबद्दल त्यांचे मनःपूर्वक अभिनंदन!

1. महसूली विभागनिहाय सर्वोत्तम तालुका कार्यालयांचा निकाल आज सायंकाळी याच ठिकाणी जाहीर होईल.
2. राज्यातील सर्वोत्तम विभागीय कार्यालये व जिल्हा कार्यालये यांच्या स्पर्धेचा निकाल जाहीर होईल याच ठिकाणी 23 मे रोजी जाहीर करण्यात येईल.
