A prominent Russian pro-war channel ZAPISKI VETERANA says that Ukrainian forces launched a simultaneous counter-offensive in the Kupyansk, Svatove, Toretsk and Pokrovsk direction.
"And what, have they made peace already?," he asks.

This means that all aid being sent to Ukraine is significantly less than what was delivered during the last four months of the Biden Administration

"To overcome production bottlenecks [...] why not re-purpose manufacturing capabilities of Germany’s famed, but ailing, automobile sector?"
Following Rheinmetall's initiative, the Federal Association of the German Security and Defense Industry is telling the new incoming government that auto factories could be repurposed to produce defense equipment, if they invest money to support the effort. https://twitter.com/ColbyBadhwar/status/1894051464995012636#m

@Maks_NAFO_FELLA: When Ukraine 🇺🇦 started the Kursk offensive, it failed to secure the Glushkovo district and Korenovo, allowing Russian forces to attack from every direction instead of just 1 or 2. That also made advancing significantly harder. Due to this, Ukraine has been losing land regularly

@RomanObens @Maks_NAFO_FELLA: Zaluzhnyi was much better on defense than Syrskyi. With Syrskyi, Ukraine has been losing land to Russia every day since the first week he got there, with the horrible withdrawal from Avdiivka, then Ocheretyne, and a 55-km advance toward Pavlohrad, losing 3,000 km of land.

In the extended deterrence discussions, we need to talk about the main purpose:
While contributing to overall deterrence, I see the main purpose as keeping a potential future war conventional.
To do this, I don't think more warheads or forward basing in peace is necessary. https://twitter.com/Etienne_Marcuz/status/1899759850189418942#m

Damage limitation against Russia, which will always have nuclear overmatch, is perhaps more of a resource drain than a real strategy we should pursue.
They could always clobber us with SLBMs from the Sea of Okhotsk, if everything goes wrong.

The French air component does give options to respond to Russian NSNW first use without launching French or British SLBMs and the accompanying all out escalation potential.
At least in theory, this can provide an offramp from further nuclear use.

On forward basing, I think wartime dispersal plans, to airfields outside France, would be sufficient.
For reassuring allies, forward basing or nuclear sharing has a role, but there are drawbacks too, also when it comes to escalation control.
New times require new thinking IMO.

According to DeepState, Ukrainian forces have almost completely withdrawn from the town of Sudzha in Russia's Kursk region, as Russian counter-offensive there continues.
Ukrainian troops are still present on the western outskirts, yet it might only be a matter of time before they are pushed back further.
