There were fees charged as high as $2 million for tankers to cross. If ships don’t pay, then they risk being targeted by Iran.
The non-Iranian tankers have two choices, either to pay or risk getting hit by Iran. While, Iranian tankers cross freely.
Before the war, all tankers, Iranian and non-Iranian had crossed the strait freely with no tolls or no Iranian control.
Now Trump is negotiating with Iran over control of one of the world’s 2nd most important oil passage. A problem that did not exist before the war. The US went from talking about collapsing Iran and creating regime change to negotiating for passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

🇺🇦🇧🇾Ukrainian intelligence reported to President Zelensky about the construction of roads and preparation of artillery positions on the Belarusian side of the border with Ukraine.
"We believe that Russia will once again try to draw Belarus into its war. I instructed the relevant channels to warn the de facto leadership of Belarus about Ukraine's readiness to defend its land and independence," Zelensky said.
