What the Russians are going to-, or realistically are willing to accept, is something that has been left out of the peacekeeper discussions from the beginning, at least in public.
Kind of makes this a Western only theoretical exercise.

We are deluding ourselves if we think Putin will agree to such a peace deal. Which is why, I think, Starmer’s commitment isn’t worth much.

@NOELreports: US 🇺🇸 is negotiating Ukraine’s 🇺🇦 future without Ukraine or Europe, while not pledging any aid to Ukraine for over a month and conceding the possibility of NATO membership after the war
Putin couldn’t be happier
The Trump Administration and Marco Rubio are traitors to US allies

RT @KofmanMichael: The force does not need to be everywhere. It needs to be in country with battalions deployed on maybe 4 operational directions, and sufficient mobility to redeploy as necessary along the front. This can be as few as 3 brigades or their equivalents. 2/

RT @KofmanMichael: I think Europe can come up with ~3 brigades (x3) for rotation without canceling all existing regional defense plan requirements. This might require a total of 45-50k. But the force needs to have battalions near the front, not milling about in Western Ukraine doing training. 4/

RT @KofmanMichael: Bottom line, while I’m skeptical that European nations can deploy and sustain a large force in country, I also don’t think they have to. The initial requirements are not insurmountable and should not be exaggerated as an alibi for doing nothing.

@KofmanMichael: Yes what does it do and its tripwire?
It could INITIALLY guard the Belarus border (thus free-up🇺🇦forces), deter's RU opening a new front here, defacto protects Poland's/EU borders.
Air cover for the force could be extended to cover Kyiv and civilian infrastructure west of Dnipro.

Yes it could mean revisiting existing commitments to rapid reaction forces, etc. but Europeans can do this. The bigger question is what should this force do, and how does it deter? If it is a tripwire, what does it attach to? 5/
