@Noahpinion @PhillipsPOBrien @Blake_Allen13 There are a variety of reasons, but one is that Russia entered Kherson with a large force that dissipated as it pursued several objectives, including Mariupol, Enerhodar, Voznesensk, Kryvyi Rih, etc. Mykolaiv had strong leadership and more time to prepare.

@mjluxmoore:
This video of Prigozhin giving a recruitment speech at a Russian prison is quite something. “I take you alive. I don’t always bring you back alive.” He says all who go fight in Ukraine, including rapists, will be amnestied on return. Deserters will be shot. Gives 5 mins to decide https://t.co/AY6zpYixy5

@Noahpinion @PhillipsPOBrien @Blake_Allen13 In addition, the farther Russian forces advanced, the farther they moved past artillery, electronic warfare, and other support.

This is really bizarre. Russia committed ~85% of its BTGs (which includes naval infantry and VDV) by April. Those units took heavy losses, so Russia has depended on volunteers and reservists since then. The 11th Army Corps based in Kaliningrad was just heavily degraded in Kharkiv

This is the head of the Bundeswehr, but I’m now wondering if he reads the news.
