Posting anonymously as I’m a solicitor in NSW. Thought it worth mentioning that the probate courts are overwhelmed. I lost two parents in 2021 and probates were returned in around 28 days. This year I’m awaiting return of documents lodged in May as we approach November! This is unprecedented since I’ve been in practice. My solicitor friends who took the thing, think nothing of it.
Recently I received instructions for a matter involving a 26 yo, fit strong, healthy male who died suddenly. Coroners report says “no cause”, although attending paramedics thought it was a heart attack (died on the way to hospital).
I’ve just received another matter involving sudden death. Dad died leaving no will, son and daughter left. Daughter approaches us to apply for letters of administration but we inform her that she needs brother’s consent. Brother then died suddenly before application got off the ground.
Our practice is overrun with probates right now and no one asks the obvious question. We’re a small firm experiencing too many deaths of clients or their families. It’s real folks.

We all had the old, “you had a choice” argument thrown in our faces not so long ago.
When my dad, my father in law and my cousin all died four weeks after playing the pokies, all three between May and November last year, I was called crazy and told to keep my opinions to myself.
I’m angry, I’m bitter, I’m disappointed and sometimes I feel completely alone and lost. We need to pull together and turn these feelings into a positive future for us all. I just wish I knew how to do that….
I want to fight then realise I have nothing left sometimes. I begged dad not to gamble, but he was told he was guaranteed to win.
I’m scared of the future, I feel myself caring less and less about things that would have once brought me joy. I get angry every time I see the news or the casino promoting their bullshit.
In WA gambling is promoted, we are all still encourage to have a flutter. Seriously what the f#$k is happening. I wonder what is next.

I live in a small country town with a rough population of 3,600. My eyes are wide open! It concerns me with the rate of funerals in our town, we have a large Catholic community so lets think 50% would be through the church (it seems almost daily I drive pass a service🥺) and we have a few celebrants in the town. I noticed this post from a prominent celebrant, new to the industry stating her 60th funeral in less than 12 months 🤔 We are not doing to see the truth unless we open our eyes ♥️🙏❤

Another friend of mine had her good friend just dr0p dead yesterday.
All of these people were stridently in favour of being darted multiple times.

Just had a home visit from the nurse for our baby. She mentioned in passing that the number of premature babies on her list is higher than it’s ever been.

My friend died of a heart attack, just before his baby was born. The irony, forced to eat cupcakes so he could be part of the birthing process at the hospital.

I am unjuised and very proud of my stance. My husband had to be juiced to keep his job as Qf Capt. Was not happy about it at all. Fortunately no serious issues yet. We had pro friends here tonight who thought we were tin hat conspiracy theorists. It was such a good conversation. We didn’t drive the conversation as we don’t bother much anymore. They told us that they regretted the juice and that we were right all along. They gave it to their 14 y/o daughter and had serious regrets. Her father who is his late 60’s has terrible heart issues, her mother is also unwell. Her nana just died and they put on her death certificate that it was C.o.v. It wasn’t. It’s the first time one of my good friends finally apologised to me and said I was right. That’s a win for me. 🙏🙏
