If you are an artist or a collective that is curious, keen, and excited about developing new works and ideas for TYA, this platform is for you!
PLAYlab is a developmental platform at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, targeting artists or collectives interested in Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) for children twelve years old and under.
PLAYlab aims to provide opportunities for research and development in the creation of new ideas for TYA productions. These ideas can come in the form of performances, workshops, or other forms of activities. We are excited about new ideas and ways to interact and engage with young audiences through the performing arts, and we hope to enable artists seeking to develop their professional practice in the field of TYA.
Selected groups or individuals will receive an honorarium to develop their ideas under the guidance of PLAYlab Artistic Associate, Ellison Tan Yuyang. These ideas will be presented as a work-in-progress showcase to a live audience during Esplanade’s March On Festival, where artists can receive feedback about their work from the audience. These ideas may also have the potential to be further developed for Esplanade’s various platforms.

We believe the traditional life values embodied in these ancient tales, literature and philosophies are just as important, if not more so, in the fast-paced and globalised world our children are growing up in.
Our workshops are non-religious and conducted in Chinese for ages 5 to 10 at partner venues such as studios, co-working spaces, and the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre.

At our Academy, we use drama education to pass Chinese legends to the next generation so they are not lost. We believe the traditional life values embodied in these ancient tales, literature and philosophies are just as important, if not more so, in the fast-paced and globalised world our children are growing up in.
Our workshops are non-religious and conducted in Chinese for ages 5 to 10 at partner venues such as studios, co-working spaces, and the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre.
We are looking for bilingual freelancers to join us in our work.

You will be part of the Marketing Communications team responsible for student recruitment and support of fundraising. To achieve their goals, the team does the following:
- Communications for branding, student recruitment and events
- Managing ITI’s database, internal communications and digital resources
- Managing ITI’s website and social media channels
- Planning and managing of events
- Preparing collaterals for various stakeholders
- Necessary administrative tasks
Requirements:
- An understanding of the fundamentals of marketing
- Some understanding and interest in the arts
- Good verbal communication and writing skills

- train students in the use of voice, movement and expression as well as provide a foundation for acquiring performance skills.
- Direct and block performances.
- Edit scripts to adapt to students' needs.

- Be flexible with schedule.
- Have passion for the arts and/or children
- Be able to communicate well with others
- Have a minimum of a Diploma in a relevant field.

Participation involves commitment to 1 meeting, 4 rehearsals and 2 performances
over the first 3 weeks of May (May 2nd to 18th)
The show offers participants who complete all requirements a modest honorarium of $700.
Participants will also be offered meals when work periods span over meal times, and transportation reimbursement when work sessions end after public transport availability.
