#محمود_سلامة_محمود_الهايشة كشف مسح أجراه الباحثون في جامعتي راتكرز وبنسلفانيا عن أن نحو 34 % من 1800 طالب ينتمون إلى تسع جامعات حكومية أمريكية اعترفوا بأنهم ارتكبوا عملية غش في اختبارات أو واجبات جامعية مكتوبة. وفي العام 2005 قدم اختصاصيو علم الاجتماع بولاية مينوسوتا نتائج بحث انتهى إلى أن ثلث عدد الباحثين العلميين الذين تم سؤالهم قد اعترفوا أنهم تورطوا في ممارسات بحثية تحوم حولها الشكوك والشبهات خلال السنوات الثلاثة السابقة. وأعلن باحثو البيولوجيا والأعصاب بنورث كارولينا وجامعة واشنطن، وكلية البرث آينشتاين في العام 2012: وجود 2000 بحث علمي غير مقبولة للنشر، وأغلبها في العلوم البيولوجية. وأن معظم البحوث المرفوض نشرها يرد إلى سوء السلوك في إجراء البحث العلمي، وأغلب أشكال هذا السلوك هو الغش والاحتيال، وأن أسباب هذا التوجه هو تعاظم درجة الضغوط الباعثة على زيادة حدة التنافس من أجل الحصول إما على منح البحوث أو الوظائف الأكاديمية. In 2005, sociologists in Minnesota presented research findings that concluded that a third of the number of scientific researchers questioned admitted that they had been involved in research practices around which suspicions and suspicions were hovering over the past three years. In 2012, biologists and neuroscientists in North Carolina and the University of Washington, and Perth Einstein College announced that there were 2,000 unpublished scientific papers for publication, mostly in biological sciences.
